i know you know what you're doing, but surely people are more likely to buy if they have the safety net of Paypal?

Safety net for who the buyer or Dave?
Paypal charges would be silly and gaypal is not that safe for the seller if the buy knows what they are doing.
Best way to use paypal is to transfer the money out as soon as you recieve it.

i meant for the buyer. they would see that they could use Paypal, and it might comfort some people that they could get their money back if everything went tits-up

It's quite simple, i dont trust paypal with that amount of money.
Say if it's a dodger he pays i send the decks, then he claims he never got them, suddenly im up shit creek without a paddle.

thats why when you send something with that value you get it insured for 2 reasons, damaged/lost & you know they have received it, if they file a claim you have proof for paypal.
personally i wreckon you would get that much if you had paypal has its better than waiting 5days+ for a cheque to clear
