Does anyone use the EMU Proteus 2000?!?!
We've been using this synth in school for our labs. HOLY SNAP! this thing has some EXCELLENT pads, and a ton of oldschool patches. I was SO amazed by this thing! Ive been coming into open labs 4 hours at a time just to play around with this thing and ive gotten a few tracks done using Pro Tools. I hate using Protools for midi, Id rather use Cubase. Anyway, I LOVE this synth! Its really to bad they dont make them anymore:(. We also have some kind of triton Synth. Its not so great , Although, the menus are alot easier to navigate it doesnt make up for the EMU sounds. Has anyone used any other EMU synths? What kind of synths did the oldschool hardcore producers use?

Is it really that good? We have one at college, but i've never used it because i assumed it wasn't that good, but i'll have to look into it!
Back in the day, the Roland Alpha Juno, or samples of it, was the primary sound in most Hardcore, especially Dutch Hardcore. The Roland JV1080 was used alot too.
For piano's the JD800, Korg M1/N1 or samples of those were used alot, there is much more but i can't think of them at the moment :)

There were alot of samples used, from stuff like the JV1080 etc.
