Are you building yourself? Do you need a monitor?

You should be able to get a pc for £500 that will run just about any program you want. if you build it yourself it will be even cheaper.

Try looking @ the new dell vostro or mesh pc's if you dont want to build yourself.

Yeah that sounds about right, 500 quid will get you a nice PC. But seeing as its for mainly music, you might want to consider a custom built one, can add in the audio stuff you want then. You wont need amazing graphics power, but you will want something that can handle audio encoding.

Nice little dual core with a good sound card and standard graphics would do it, but remember new PC's are sold with vista now, and vista is quite RAM hungry, so its advisable to get 2 gig of RAM minimum.

You wont get a custom built from Comet or Curry's and tbh you wont get an amazing PC from them either, they are overpriced and underpowered imo.

I hate to say it but PC World is probably your best bet. (Same parent company as Curry's btw)

You will pick up a deal, PC, Monitor, etc for around 500 quid. E-machines are cheap and offer a lot. Remember , sound card is probably the most important, and not many ready made PC's come with a sound card, its all onboard.
