Now that I've got some cash I am thinking of getting the pioneer djm-400 mixer, and use that in conjunction with a virtual dj program such as trakktor just to get the hang of beat matching and mixing its self. if i decide that i really like mixing & get the hang of it ill get either the cdj 400 or 800s.

First question: This a good idea?

Second: Where the hell shall I get the DJM400?? I see one on djdeals.com w/ a 1 year warranty for like $500USD, and on guitcarcenter.com i see it for $600 with no warranty for all i know.

Third: Any cheaper sufficient virtual dj programs?

Fourth & final(for now): Any videos and/or guides on how to work trakktor or which ever program i should use?

this is my field, talk to leto as well

i have the torq Xponent, it comes with its own software. The software and set are ready to go right out of the box so install and mix, pretty simple. most virtual sets are like that. they go from anywhere around $459-759 in US dollars.

then there is the Numark Total Control, this is what leto has. It a pretty simple bit of hardware, two jog wheels and a mixer pack, just standard. Its ment to be used with Numark Cue or Traktor. It runs way cheaper, for about $125 - $200 US dollars.

then there are the Beringner (spelling?) sets. i havn't read too much on them so your on your own. they run for $80-$180 in us dollars.

have fun!

thanks a TON for the reply

but, actually what im thinking is getting the djm400 and hooking it up to my computer and using a program to replace the CDJs. Basically have traktor, but with a physical mixer. then eventually getting CDJs with a good feel on how to work everything

torq xponent seems real cool but the look and probably feel of it bugs the hell out of me >_>
