something that isn't logic.
my ex kept the computer with my studio on it. i now have a mac. what type of production software is available for a mac at affordable prices?

If you want anything of professional quality you're going to have to use logic. Sorry, that's what you get with a mac. You could try ardour which is a free open source DAW.
Of course you could try vmware fusion or bootcamp but I'm unsure how that would work out with a DAW.

I got Cubase studio 4 at a discount from them. cubase essential might be a good choice and it works with mac(i used to run Cubase Le on my pc rewired to reason and was well pleased with the quality so I can only expect more from this cubase version)
