SO I have cubase but things are not running as smooth as I thought they would .
If anything what is prefered/required for cubase with pc? Sound devices?mother boards? Processors ?that kind of info?Cheers

These are the sort of specs id want to be running minimum

1GB of ram
Any of the Core2Duo CPU range
PCI or External Soundcard. I have the M Audio 2496, cheap and does the job well (though not needed)

Type of motherboard, if you are not overclocking, isnt really important. As long as it has all the connectivity you need and its a reliable board, thats all that matters.

check which ASIO Driver is running in the device setup.Cubase comes with a pretty good ASIO driver version but if you have a pro audio card it should have more dedicated drivers which will improve latency and quality quite a bit.
