So i have this dream of becoming a great DJ.....but i'm only 16....i plan on getting a job soon so i can buy some equipment. My queston is: what should i get first? (pleeeeaaase help!!)

easiest i think is play around with software like traktor dj or virtual dj kinda to 'get to know the basic' while you are saving up for some gear.. imo the best things to start with these days is a simple mixer nd 2 cdj's i wont really say wot kinda cdj's i mean.. ur the one paying see wot you can afford. maybe you find out this isnt wot you wanted after all nd then u spended way to much on it ;)
anyway practice practice practice!! you'll manage :)

You're pretty much in the same situation as me. I really want som equipment and now that I've started working regulairly I'm "wasting" it on a trip to Greece next year 
Aswell as doing what bugbear said you should also watch some videos on youtube trying to understand how the mixer or how the cdj's work. Read some articles and just have some basic knowledge so you won't be like.. "uhm.. I wonder what happens if I turn this knob" when you get your kit.

look, your the prime age to start. screw around with music via virtual Dj or tracktor.
then look for your first set. http://www.123DJ.com is a good place to start (if your in the us) it will atleast get you some cost effective ideas.
then spin away, beware though, in order to have a turntable, you must first have records

im currently in the stage of messing around with deckadance and practicing mixing two songs together.
it sounds like absolute shit right now... no soundcard to use headphones with and no midi controller so it always sounds like a trainwreck... i need some cdjs and a proper mixer. what do you all suggest? ive been looking at some denon equipment. yay or nay?

try finding someone near you that spins, become friends w/ them & ask if you can use their equipment. buy your own music, headphones & needles if they own turntables.

forget about buying turntables for a while and just listen to as many proper mixes as you possibly can.
get to know the music sober, and avoid going to massive events and getting ****ed up. go to smaller events where you can be close to the dj and watch him or her play.
get an understanding of how a FLUID mix sounds ie: one that has ZERO trainwrecks in it.
once you feel that you have an understanding of the music and still feel like you want to dj after doing all of this homework, then hopefully you'd been saving your money because I'm not the kind of person that will recommend buying shitty equipment.
buy 2 technics SL 1200 MK2 or M3D or MK5 turntables and quality mixer. Purchase no more than 10 vinyl records.
practice what you've been listening to and try to emulate what you've been listening to on those mix cds and by what you've seen the djs doing.
do not post a shitty mix on a forum because you do not get better that way, and do not play out live until you can produce a quality mix cd without trainwrecks and key clashes.
typically, a quality dj takes anywhere from a year or so before they play a gig.
and if you want to be a GREAT dj then you better practice as much as you can, because age doesn't mean shit for skill.
I've heard some 16 year old djs that are way better than older djs. age doesn't mean anything.

There ya go, thats exactly how I got into it. Hey man, if you really love the music, by all means go for it. Im 16 too, Ive only been DJing for about a year now, but Ive become absolutely wicked at mixing.

Get a loud pair of speakers, x2 technics 1210's, A good mixer & some good head cans. Get down to your local record store and jizz your hard earned cash on vinyl.
Too many new DJ's wouldn't know a 12inch if it jumped up and bit them on the arse.
One of the most fun weekends I have ever had was when I flew to Amsterdam for the weekend & spent it glued to a listening station in mid town records.
Cd's are good dont get me wrong, 99.99% of my sets are from CDR but that's just the nature of the music biz right now, BUT I still think all bidding dj's should learn to mix with vinyl as it is a skill that can be adapted to CDJ'S with great ease. Plus you never know what you will be mixing on until you walk into a dj booth!
As an example I've just taken a photo of my dj bag that I carry with me to EVERY gig I do in the UK & over seas, You will see it's a nice mix of both ;)
Anyway at the end of the day it's your choice so whatever you're comftable with I suppose, I'm just an old timer that loves his vinyl!

I myself don't really care about key clashes... And a lot of people dont.
Studio mixes, sure... but live mixing i dont think you should get too hung up about key clashes... its not going to **** your mix and most people wont notice.
just my 2 cents.
