Recently on the forum there has been a lot of requests for free vst's for production,
So here is a big guide to some free for you all to try out,
Sonix
(vst plugin)
Sonix - granulator vst plugin
http://www.jcproductionz.com/ccount/click.php?id=2 A single-stream quasi-synchronous granulator which also features ananalog filter to further manipulate the sound with a smooth lowpass, phatpass(with some big bottom end) and highpass formant hybrid settings. The sonix interface is very easy on the eyes and the gui gives sonix the look of hardware rather than software. All the main controls can beautomated of course so you get 'full control'over your audio grains, and metering is courtesy of a standard rms sensing VU which monitors the mono input level only. Arch Avenger Pro Version 2 (Synth) http://www.jcproductionz.com/ccount/click.php?id=3 This synth has a smooth analog sound with enough bite to cut through a dense mix, there's enough feature's packed into this synth to keep you twidling for hour's and the delay fx really enhance the whole experience encompassing you in a wide stereo field. From analog brass's to fat bass's and leads all the way to wild fx, New Features And Changes In Version 2 - Fully redesigned GUI featuring a 5 octave span graphic keyboard with mod wheel and bender, responds to mouse input. - Seedable random module(Gate) with frequency, seed, level, sync, cycles controls. - Stereo chorus with wet&dry mix and three wave's - Added waveforms-"sine,white noise&pink noise to oscillators 1+2 - Five new presets for a total of 65 presets, also some of the presets from version 1.0 have been enhanced Golden Compressor | GCO-1 Description The GCO-1 is a versatile quality compressor and expander plugin modeled after some of the best analog compressors. It has an open architecture with many means of adjustment, which ensures that almost any analog sound character can be obtained; from smooth and transparent, to warm and tubeish, or even pumping, if so preferred. It works well with all material for tracking, mixing and mastering. There is no latency, so it is the ideal choice for real time performance in the studio or on stage. Key Features High compression and expansion ratios Five envelope types including Opto-coupled Very short attack and release times Program dependency to avoid pumping Frequency dependent compression Adjustable knee and compression linearity Filters to eliminate low frequency disturbances Presets A|B comparisons Silent knobs 64 Bit Internal Processing Low CPU usage Supports sampling rates up to 192kHz Full VST automation No Latency Detailed Users Manual http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/downloads/products/setup_gco-1_v112.exe Golden Equaliser | GEQ-7 Description GEQ-7 is a high quality five band parametric equalizer with a selectable shelf setting on the highest and lowest band. Additionally, Low Cut and High Cut Filters with selectable slopes are provided. Four different types of EQ styles can be selected to fit any task or tonal adjustment behavior preferred by the user. The equalizer is a fully matched emulation of equivalent analog hardware, with true analog behavior and sound. That also means no latency; it can be used real-time in the studio or on stage. The installation package includes three plugin variants; a variant with full stereo controls, one with shared stereo controls, and a mono version that saves CPU resources. Key Features Five band parametric design Selectable shelf on lowest and highest band Low cut and High cut filters with slopes from 6 to 48 dB / octave Separate left and right channel adjustments Four selectable EQ types A|B comparisons Silent knobs and push in / out buttons Zoom and Scrollable frequency response display 64 Bit Internal Processing Very low CPU usage Supports sampling rates up to 192kHz Full VST automation No Latency Detailed Users Manual http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/downloads/products/setup_geq-7_v112.exe Mastering Series MPL-1 Std. Description The Kjaerhus MPL-1 is a limiter plug-in made for mastering and other purposes where the highest accuracy and quality are demanded. The MPL-1 uses an over-sampled peak detecting algorithm to ensure that even high frequency peaks are accurately detected. This result in better high-frequency performance and it ensures that no overshoot or clipping occurs in the final D/A conversion. Look-ahead and release-smoothing (soft release-hold) assist in keeping the compression smooth and transparent, even at high compression levels. The MPL-1 uses a new stereo linking technique that allows peaks to be limited individually on each channel, while longer lasting gain reductions are linked. This technique ensures that peaks in one channel do not produce artifacts in the other channel, while the average compression still remains the same in each channel to avoid disturbances in the stereo balance. A PDR (Program Dependent Release) function is available to minimize pumping effect and increase loudness. The MPL-1 also offers TPDF-Dithering for 8, 16 and 24 bit output resolution. Four stereo meters show the peak input- and output levels as well as compression and RMS-output. Key Features High-precision limiting with no overshoot Maximum loudness and minimum pumping Over-sampled peak detection with look-ahead Smooth Hold Function Stereo-link with unlinked peak limiting Four stereo meters with peak-hold AES17 compliant RMS output meter TPDF-Dithering for 8, 16 and 24 bit resolution A|B comparisons Silent knobs Low CPU usage Support sampling rates up to 96kS/s VST Automation http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/downloads/products/setup_mpl-1_demo_v102.exe Windows Version Mac Version http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/downloads/products/mpl-1_pro_se_demo_mac_v1022.mpkg.zip Golden Peak-Pressor | GPP-1 Description The GPP-1 is a high quality soft-limiter / peak compressor designed for peak- taming / compression during real-time tracking, sub-tracking and mixing, live or in the studio. It can compress troublesome peaks, soften the sound, and bring out instruments that would have been buried in the final mix. It offers five different release types designed for different material and taste. Program dependent envelope times for increased loudness and minimum pumping are also included. Key Features Feed forward compression and limiting Five envelope types including Opto-coupled Very short release times Program dependency to avoid pumping and increase loudness Over Compression Indicator Brick-Wall Limiter Stereo Link A|B comparisons Presets with recall function Silent knobs 64 Bit Internal Processing Supports sampling rates up to 192kHz Full VST automation Low CPU usage Very low latency Detailed Users Manual http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/downloads/products/setup_gpp-1_v111.exe Spectra VSTi / Synth Description Spectra is a synthesizer plug-in which combines multistage additive synthesis with subtractive synthesis in an easy to operate and intuitive product. It provides you with a wealth of timbral possibilities, ranging from classic synthesizer sounds to re-synthesized instrument sounds and sound morphing. It features a 250 partial additive engine with up to 8 detune-able oscillators per Voice. Up to 100 harmonies can be made on a timeline for re-synthesis and harmony morphing. An audio analyzer is available to convert wave files into harmonies. The subtractive part includes 12 analog modeled filters with resonance, two of those to self-oscillation. Two LFO’s are available for tremolo, vibrato and filter modulations. Five flexible multipoint envelopes with looping and time-stretch capabilities are available to control amplitude, filter cut-off, pitch and modulation level for each of the two LFO’s. The effect section features Chorus / Flanger, Delay, Phaser and Reverb. A two bank preset system is available for easy program handling; you can, for instance, browse through one bank and easily save your favorite sounds to the other bank. There is no latency, which makes this the ideal instrument for real time performance in the studio or on stage. Mono or stereo input, with 3 output modes, bucketEER can be used for delay effects and basic reverbs. Sounds suprisingly good considering how simple it is ... http://www.roughdiamondproductions.com/whiteLABEL/download.php?r=bucketEER Hope these are of some help to some of you. Enjoy. Buzz
