Recently on the forum there has been a lot of requests for free vst's for production,
So here is a big guide to some free for you all to try out,
Sonix

A single-stream quasi-synchronous granulator which also features ananalog filter to further manipulate the sound with a smooth lowpass, phatpass(with some big bottom end)
and highpass formant hybrid settings.
The sonix interface is very easy on the eyes and the gui gives sonix the look of hardware rather than software. All the main controls can beautomated of course so you get
'full control'over your audio grains, and metering is courtesy of a standard rms sensing VU which monitors the mono input level only.

Golden Equaliser | GEQ-7
Description
GEQ-7 is a high quality five band parametric equalizer with a selectable shelf setting on the highest and lowest band. Additionally, Low Cut and High Cut Filters with selectable slopes are provided. Four different types of EQ styles can be selected to fit any task or tonal adjustment behavior preferred by the user. The equalizer is a fully matched emulation of equivalent analog hardware, with true analog behavior and sound. That also means no latency; it can be used real-time in the studio or on stage. Mastering Series MPL-1 Std.
Description
The Kjaerhus MPL-1 is a limiter plug-in made for mastering and other purposes where the highest accuracy and quality are demanded. The MPL-1 uses an over-sampled peak detecting algorithm to ensure that even high frequency peaks are accurately detected. This result in better high-frequency performance and it ensures that no overshoot or clipping occurs in the final D/A conversion. Look-ahead and release-smoothing (soft release-hold) assist in keeping the compression smooth and transparent, even at high compression levels. The MPL-1 uses a new stereo linking technique that allows peaks to be limited individually on each channel, while longer lasting gain reductions are linked. This technique ensures that peaks in one channel do not produce artifacts in the other channel, while the average compression still remains the same in each channel to avoid disturbances in the stereo balance. A PDR (Program Dependent Release) function is available to minimize pumping effect and increase loudness. The MPL-1 also offers TPDF-Dithering for 8, 16 and 24 bit output resolution. Four stereo meters show the peak input- and output levels as well as compression and RMS-output.

Description
The GPP-1 is a high quality soft-limiter / peak compressor designed for peak- taming / compression during real-time tracking, sub-tracking and mixing, live or in the studio. Description
Spectra is a synthesizer plug-in which combines multistage additive synthesis with subtractive synthesis in an easy to operate and intuitive product. It provides you with a wealth of timbral possibilities, ranging from classic synthesizer sounds to re-synthesized instrument sounds and sound morphing. It features a 250 partial additive engine with up to 8 detune-able oscillators per Voice. Up to 100 harmonies can be made on a timeline for re-synthesis and harmony morphing. An audio analyzer is available to convert wave files into harmonies. The subtractive part includes 12 analog modeled filters with resonance, two of those to self-oscillation. Two LFO’s are available for tremolo, vibrato and filter modulations.
