Hi everyone,
Just making the jump to cdjs and wanted to know what people thought was the best way to go about turning my vinyl collection into mps's...
What programs do people use?
What cdr's do people rate?
etc
And just any general tips or methods to do this.

You need to check your laws first tho. If you're not allowed to make backup copies (of CD ie) then it's not legal. I wont dwell deeper, but...
At the moment I use Magix Cleaning Lab, which works pretty well, and I use Sound Forge 6 (outdated version) for final cleanup. Magix Cleaning Lab is fairly cheap, but Sound forge (later versions) aren't, so I'd recommend Audacity for final cleanup, like removing silence in the beginning and at the end
For compatability reason, I always encode to MP3, but I always store backups in FLAC (off original and cleaned version) if I find the need to redo/clean it again

Yeah but when your going to work and you want to listen to the track on your iPod, you need the MP3, cause your iPod can't play vinyls ( or am I wrong ?  ).

A real man would be able to stand still and listen, while carying the same amount of music that a ipod with 32GB of memory would have :)
