layer 2 kicks.eq the top off 1 and bottom off the other.then eq the final product and mess around with compression.might take a while to choose ur 2 kiks and get it right but its worth it in the end

mortis: iv found one called "the ultimate hardcore sample pack" by slipmatt and billy bunter. i hope thats the one you mean coz im gonna get that! thanks for the tip!

bridson: im not good with compression. i can get beats to sound more punchy but i cant get beats to sound 'fatter' which is why im kinda lookin to sample beats at the mo rather than spending ages trying to get a beat i like and not really knowing what im doing with a compressor. Thanks for the advice tho, iv never thought of layering two different beats before! its good to learn new techniques and i will give this a go!

and trubass: tell me more about jumpstyle! iv never heard the term jumpstyle before. can you recomend some good artists or compilations/mixes please, im intruigued!

cheers guys

A kick that sounds bouncy in a track won't necessarily sound bouncy on its own. Furthermore, a kick that doesn't sound bouncy in one track, might sound bouncy used in another track. Wht I'm getting at here is context. There are plenty of kicks that are ready for some serious, heavyweight bouncing action in the Vengeance Clubsound collections, but how you use them is just as important as which one you choose. How long are you drawing your kicks in for? What are you doing for bass? How loud are you setting your kick in the mix? There are dozens of small factors to contemplate before writing off a whole collection of samples.....
