I have a mix i done which i want to split into tracks using Audacity. I do not want any gaps in the mix, but want it split into several tracks. Basically so it goes from track to track without pausing for a second or two. Also i want to be able to add the split where i want to. Not every 3 mins or something.
Thanks.

Should work to just cut out each track and paste into a new document, but I've never tried splitting up a mix, so I'm not sure if you'll get 0 gaps, but you should :p

You could try this instead: http://www.yaosoft.com/ to split the tracks and then try http://www.foobar2000.org/?page=Download to burn the CD. Foobar's default burning option doesn't burn a 2 sec gap but you do need Nero to burn and the extra component from the foobar website though.

the way that i can think of doing it to split it up into different sections, export each section as a separate file, then arrange them in itunes (or what ever you use to burn CD's) then tell it to burn with no gap between the tracks.

I do it probably a very long-winded and annoying way.
Play the mix when i get to a part where i wanna split i highlight from that point to the begining of the audio, cut, open a new instance of audacity, paste and export. Takes a while but i get the splits exactly where i want em and obviously have to listen very intently to the mix so i may find mistakes (flawed mixing etc) that i have to go back and do again as im a bit obssevive at times with my mixes. But as i say that is a really long-winded way of doing but i dont mind it.
When burning the mix to cd most programs for doing this allow you to choose the gaps inbetween the tracks dont they? Ive not had any problems doing it in Nero.

Another way is to open the file you want, PROJECT, ADD LABEL, at the point(s) you want to split the track,EXPORT MULTIPLE as an mp3 (you will need the lame plugin to export as mp3.)
The result will be however many tracks you have split the mix into which you can then burn to cd with no pre-gap (Nero or Roxio will both do this.)

You can just make a cue sheet too. And use something like cue-splitter to chop it up for you. However, you need to know how to make a cue sheet and also be very precise in the timing.
