Does Bonkers 17 sound dated to anyone yet?

My neighbour has been annoying for the past 2 hours or so with his chainsaw cutting wood

I've played a few music cds so far,

I decided to put Bonkers 17 on and to me the sound is still fresh and i hope someone would be shocked to know it's from 2007, which is a long time in music years

I know at the moment what is popular in electronic music is alot of the dubstep etc

But does the music on that compilation sound dated already in sound/style terms

Oh yeah, definitely. It really does. I mean I loved that album but thanks to the (evils of) perpetually improving production values, I find it very difficult to listen to those tracks alongside anything more modern.

Hardcore suffers with this problem particularly badly because it relies heavily on big impact leads. Fortunately, I think over the past few years, we've hit a sort of plateau where things are moving much more slowly -- to the extent that tunes from about 2009/2010 are barely noticeable slipped into a set of tracks from, say, 2013.

Anyway, yeah, Bonkers 17 definitely sounds aged to me!

Some of it sounded dated at the time it came out. Not all of it maybe but it wouldn't have sounded as cutting edge as Bonkers 8-14 where
