Just had a random (most likely rubbish) idea.
How about the DJ's/mixers among us have a topic where we dig out our old mixes from days gone by?
Partly influenced by Ken's old mix topic the other week, partly by me finding a load of old CD's in a box!
Could be a live mix you're particularly proud of, your first ever attempt, a demo that got you a booking, or just a random mess about. But must be your own work
Quality not important, just write a few words about what your mix means to you.
What you lot think?

I suppose I can post this here.
I wanted to try to recreate the times I had @ Club Kinetic, Longton Leisure Bowl back in '96 along with listening to Stu Allan on Key 103 Manchester and feel I did with this mix. This mix is probably 5 or 6 years old now, recorded on a set of Pioneer CDJ 100's and a knackered old Stanton mixer but the recording quality of the mix turned out to be excellent....... so here is 'Back To The Hardcore' !! I went on to do two follow up mixes that can be found on my soundcloud but this original one will always be a personal favourite.
DJ Boydy - Back To The Hardcore.

This is an awesome idea for a thread!
I love digging back through my old mixes every now and again cause they're always chock full of great memories, especially those of going up town every weekend with my mate & grabbing all the newest vinyls from 23rd Precinct in Glasgow :)
Here's a mix from me from 2007 I believe. If I remember rightly it's the first I recorded when I finally got my own set of Technics, still the same ones I use today :) I remember going out & forking out 250 quid on a dual Philips CD recorder just so I could record my own mixes.....little did I know I could just buy a 5 quid lead & use the PC instead! yes I was just starting out : P
I used to think the first mix on this was genius! haha Well I suppose it is pretty original. Don't ask what the stuttering on the faders all about, I think I was using the transform on my old Numark mixer & thinking it sounded cool, either that or my CD recorder was even more of a waste of money than first realised ; )
Enjoy! & dig deep people, let's remember how we all started off...

Well Boydy's mix isn't that old, so i guess it doesn't really matter how old. Incidentally i still listen to it.

Living in L.A. in the late 90's, I was heavily influenced by Paulina Taylor when I got into hardcore. Many times he'd kick off his sets with Force & Styles tunes. He had this kind of toy like candy sound that was amazing (for it's time) so that's in part the reason for the title as I feel the tracklist kinda reflects those days, with a modern twist. Also, in 2010 my dog, Jeremy, passed away around the time I started making the eurobounce remix. We called him "Jero" for short and read from spanish it kinda sounds like "euro" plus the "bounce" at the end of the title, it just hit home which was yet another reason to start off with that track. So it's a mixed bag of emotions in a way. hope you enjoy.
Tracklist:
1. Force & Styles - Eurobounce (FunDaBounce intro mix) [Mix Exclusive]
2. Starstruck feat. S3rl - Loving You [Australia With Force]
3. DJ Faber - Excitement (Pinnacle Mix) [Re-Build]
4. DJ FunDaBounce - Inspiration Falls [Brightspeed Recordings]
5. E-Type - True Believer (Styles & Breeze rmx) [Junkbox]
6. DJ FunDaBounce - Southern Rush [Brightspeed Recordings]
7. Nu Foundation - Wildstyle [Warped Science]
8. Hixxy & Sharkey - Toytown (Reese's k12 bootleg) [Free Track]
