Seeing as how there is a huge 3 day festival in Atlanta but not any hard dance acts that I could find, I guess I was just wondering why?

I mean it seems like at the larger festivals most niche genres at least get some recognition, and hell even at electric daisy Styles performed. I suppose maybe it gave me false hope that the growth was really kicking off.

So as for a couple of questions, do you guys know whether harder acts just aren't invited or just aren't interested in going? Do you forsee growth into these festivals, seeing as how its easier to get smaller acts into the main view, and do you something large like futureworld gives the music a better shot at said venues?

I know this wasn't presented that well but it was just something I was musing

depends on the promotors. a lot of the larger ones will mainly cater to the brofest and book your sterotypical edm.

nag the promotors to book something hard and maybe they'll get the point.

Like BrianK said it's all up to the promoters organizing these events. In general though, harder styles of electronic music just don't garner as much interest here in the US as the watered down shit that passes as today's EDM that is played out in bars, clubs, schools, TV, and all other mainstream locations. Listening to UK Hardcore, Hardstyle, Gabber Hardcore, and hardcore techno require a much more open mind and a bit more effort to enjoy than current mainstream house and dubstep.

There is some hard dance music at TomorrowWorld, which is what the event in Atlanta is called. There is a Q-Dance stage, and there is hardstyle played all day long there. But I agree that isn't enough. EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) has definitely improved and become more diverse in the styles of electronic music that they book. They also have a Q-Dance stage, for 2 maybe 3 years now, and this is the first time they're booking UK hardcore talent. But personally I think it's better for you to fly out to an event in the US that will book that UK hardcore talent rather than wait for these big events to do it for you.

Toronto usually throws some great ones, as well as Arizona. They have their annual Kandiland festival in November like always. They usually book Futureworld talent at Kandiland. And also Cali has some events with multiple UK hardcore talent bookings for one event. But personally since I'm a bit over seeing futureworld live, I'm holding out for the UK events, unless something that catches my interest comes up within decent travel distances (like a possible US HU tour next year).

Personally Futureworld and their events are like the tomorrowland of the UK hardcore scene. Not talking about the crowds they bring (because they've never been able to get over 100k ppl to their events) but they do attract a larger audience, but I also think their productions are a bit more mainstream compared to other styles of UK hardcore. But even in Europe at events like Defqon, Decibel, and Syndicate who specifically cater to harder styles of EDM don't even book UK hardcore talent. It's pretty obvious that UK hardcore is a very niche genre that mainly caters to the UK, and a handful of scenes in North America and Australia. I don't see that changing much sadly, because there is so much UK hardcore talent that deserves much more exposure, specifically the Hardcore Underground crew.

That is pretty much what I figured. I do like hardstyle but after about one or two sets I guess the reverb kick, gets to me? Im not sure, either way thank you both for some good answers, I guess all I can do is keep producing and see what pans out
