There are some really top-drawer uplifting vocal pieces on here. I'll do a more detailed review at some point, but overall - definitely a worthwhile project. I seriously feel this could - eventually - take a big share of the Clubland market. It may well turn into a big money spinner for Hardcore Underground.
A Dougal & Gammer mix on the next one would be absolutely ideal. Those two are sorely, sorely missed on modern day compilations. And I think if they had a big album to be a part of again - they'd get in the studio more regularly, and having an official outlet for their tracks would get them producing some more vocal anthems.
I don't know what the sales figures have been like, but from the outside - this seems like a big success. I think it will go a long, long way in helping a lot of listeners that were originally ambivalent towards Hardcore Underground feel much more positively about them.

Yea but the idea behind HU2013 has been to highlight labels, not necessarily to highlight individual djs. In order for them to work together on a mix, HU Presents would have to highlight Futureworld. I probably do see it happening for the next one, but there's no guarantee it'll be those 2 mixing that particular cd.
Also I think they're doing just fine collaborating with other producers, or in Gammer's case, all on his own. But I'm sure every now and then they'll get together for a track.

Well...I've heard better mixing, but if the highlight is on the tracks and not the Mixing skills, then disregard that comment.
For what the item is, it's great! 3 CDs of some upfront material from a few labels. The drawback for me is...I'm not digging this new sound of Hardcore. The "put-chack!-put-chack!" drum pattern makes the energy in the track seem..."interrupted". And the electro/dubstep influence weighs too heavy on the tracks and makes them sound slower.
There were some gems on this album, particularly on CDs 2 & 3, and I'm happy to own the album. It's just, when did hardcore change from fun, energetic, fast, and cheesy to softer drum patterns, more male vocals, and the F-bomb being dropped around?

Has anyone noticed the misprint on the track list number on the back of the album.???
on CD2 theres no track 8 it goes 7 , 10 , 9 , 10
heheh!
haha just now that you mentioned it. When I go and retag and rename all my tracks for HU2013 I did it through the booklet and I didn't notice anything. Had I done it thru the back I definitely would have noticed it, but damn such small print lol hurts my eyes.

25 hardcore releases

Just ordered this one, looking forward to listening.
However, I'm not sure if we'll see many releases like this in the future (although I hope we do).
Well the reason is because all business is based on one fundamental core: supply and demand. Is there any demand out there from the fans to hear mixes from the likes of Klubfiller, Sc@r or Chris Fear? I don't think so... and if there is I'll be glad to eat my words.
If you're going to showcase these fabulous new and upcoming artists, let's do it, but let's head it up by Fracus or Darwin, or perhaps Scott Brown. I bet there's several hundred people who are reading these forum right now and will decide not to make a purchase for this reason alone! Give the consumer a reason to buy the product, and continue to keep buying the product.
Good luck for the future, will continue to support HU.

LMAO no. I've only gone through the first HU2013 CD and I can honestly say that it will not be better than HU6. No matter how brilliant the other 2 CDs will be, Klubfiller's CD, in my opinion, would bring the whole album down.
And I find it a bit funny that you complained that there were dubcore influenced tracks on HU6, yet there is a siginificant amount of it in CD1 of HU2013. You either don't know what the hell "dubcore" is, or you love it more than you like to admit to yourself.

Haven't listened to it all yet, but I've listened to all cd 1 & 2 and a little more than half of 3, and from what I could tell before even listening to it or hearing any of the tracks, cd3 is def the best! but its a pretty decent cd, good tracks on all cds, with some boring or not really good tracks on cd1 & 2. but I probably expected that even though I've heard none of them, or even heard any of klubfiller ever, but still a decent purchase and good to have, but surprised nobody really mentioned the joke of mixing by klubfiller at times, couldn't believe what I was hearing at times! it wasn't even mixing at times, just bringing 1 track into another at a random time basically, or when a beat stopped, can't really believe a top so called dj would be doing things like that, especially on a released cd, and no scratching by unknown either was really surprised by this as well, was actually thinking to myself, how much scratching there'd be in the mix, I didn't expect to much tbh, but I did expect some!

I did actually write in my initial feelings to this project that I don't as a rule like dub core and was pleasantly surprised by how good a disk it really is. I think the main reason for that is that it isn't full on dub core and I think some elements can work out well when the rest of the track flows. When I wrote my feelings after the first listen I really was surprised so perhaps this blend does do it for me. It's not that my musical tastes have changed because I still can't stand clubland hardcore 8 or 9 and the majority of dub core is still horrendous. But like I say, perhaps the blend of these tracks are just a little bit different although you were right to call that one.
I hope that clears things up.

To be honest: besides a few fine tracks I didn't like this release at all!
Otherwise it's a good summarisation of how Hardcore Music in 2013 actually felt to me. Too much crap had been released last year to be able to find the good tracks if you didn't took enough time to look carefully.
