Now i reckon that some folk will be able to do a more comprehensive job than i have but i had an idea for the playlist from my itunes ratings and then i thought it would be fun to post them here. I will say i struggled to do the early years as i haven't many un-mc'd proper versions of tracks as compilations were sparse too and please forgive me if i have some of the years wrong i just went with what year i could get them or best guess!
1996: Force & Styles- Heart of gold (really easy one)
1997: Visa -Fly away
1998: Triple J - Wonderful world
1999: Force & Styles - sunshine
2000-2003: Ufo - Breaka (Have hardly any hardcore from this era hense over three years)
2004: Lisa Marie/united in dance - Still the one
2005: Dougal & Gammer - Tell me a story
2006: Squad-e - Lost without you
All of the picks were easy up to this point because they were all stand out from their years but in 2007 i had 13 tracks to pick from that i liked equally.
2007: DMO/Ham - Every single day
2008: Billy daniel bunter - Keep me more
2009: Hixxy - Kaleidoscope
2010: Brisk & Ham - Fire and flames (By a mile!)
2011: Hixxy - Sora blue
2012: JDM ft Marie louise - Love Everlasting Gisbo remix
2013: Ranzor - Jump!
I do consider myself to have a wide range of hardcore i like but it seems the high energy happy stuff tends to win out above all else what about you lot??

to be honest i found a number of years quite hard also but it was fun to try 
edited to add: i only started at 1996 because that's the earliest i was into the scene, feel free to add other years.

Nice idea! but would severely wreck my head for hours on end, and I would never come to the right conclusion for most of the years

Technically I only got into hardcore in 2008 but I'm gonna go retrospectively for the rest. I'm using the year of first release as the final say on when a track was made.
Didn't put too much thought into my list because otherwise it would take too long! If I spent longer actually looking at a list of tunes from each year, I'd probably come up with something completely different. :D
1991: Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era - Far Out
1992: Some Citadel Of Kaos track I've forgotten the name of (alternatively, anything except Top Buzz - Livin' In Darkness, ****ing hate that tune)
1993: Force & The Evolution - Fall Down On Me (many other equally promising candidates on Kniteforce though)
1994: Luna-C - Piano Progression
1995: Scott Brown - Now Is The Time (Brisk - Airhead if I'm allowed to have two)
1996: Force & Styles - Heart Of Gold
1997: 2 Damn Tuff - Ruff Muff
1998: Force & Styles - Funfair (Ham Remix)
1999: Vinylgroover & Trixxy - John Gotti's Revenge (also have a really big thing for DNA & Breeze - Drivin' Me Crazy (Frantic Remix))
2000: Hixxy - Worlds Apart (or something else on B-Trax I suppose)
2001: Scott Brown - Turn Up The Music (having trouble thinking of anything that was released in 2001)
2002: Styles & Breeze - Future Set (or Scott Brown - Neckbreaker or Brisk & Kevin Energy - Unlock Ya Brain)
2003: Scott Brown - Fly With You (or basically half a dozen others)
2004: Ham - Be Happy (or basically half a dozen others)
After that I stopped being able to narrow it down to less than a dozen so I gave up, apart from:

Oh yea, guess I gotta mention that too, that like Elloitt I didn't start listening to Hardcore until later; 2002(if you exclude the odd german stuff like Blumchen and Scooter, and the fact that I actually did own Off Yer Nut!! 1 and 2 already in 2000 :P).
