We have been spoilt with some great artist albums from Hardcore Underground in the last few months which got me thinking what other artists I would like to see have a dedicated artist album.

Nu Foundation - Not sure how realistic this one is but would'nt it be a great tribute to see all his work on one album. There are quite a few tracks that never got released (eg Lay me down) and there is a decent back catalogue to chose from. You could include some new remixed by HU artists of some of his tracks? Maybe some of the profits could got to a charity or some sort?

Force & Styles - Not much more to be said on this one as its already been mentioned in another thread. It would definatly sell though.

Fade & Bananaman - I know Fade retired some time ago but they have a significant volume of work to chose from. With Bananaman back on the scene maybe its the right time?

what are peoples thoughts?

Not a hope in hell of it happening but would love to see a raverbaby classics cd from hixxy. There would be a huge number of (digitally) unreleased tracks to choose from, the problem would be having enough cd's to fit them on.

The only way that any future artist albums y'all have named would be even plausible is if those artists are actually still current in the scene, with the exception of Hixxy and Nu Foundation.

Vinylgroover has plenty of unreleased or unobtainable tracks, but it's not worth the trouble of doing an artist album if he's not currently in the scene producing again. He's been teasing at that notion for years now, with no clear sign of whether he actually will or not.

Bananaman still has some to go before he could come out with an artist album, especially with Fade. Has Fade actually declared a return this past year, or was that someone else I'm thinking of?

Force & Styles, I don't see them coming back together anytime soon. Darren's been doing well for himself on his own, it would surely be a bit of a step back for him to rejoin with Force, especially since Force hasn't produced anything in ages.

Honestly I'm sure that HU would love to actually work on any artist albums up there anyone mentions, but you have to remember that they want to also make sure there is some financial stability in the albums they release. Bananaman and Vinylgroover artist albums right now will not be a financial success at their current state in hardcore. Mostly old-timers would be the ones investing in such albums because we still recognize the names, but a lot of the youth today don't realize the impact these 2 had on the scene over 10 years ago.

Now a Hixxy/Raver baby classics album is VERY plausible! I think a lot of that could ride on how well the Dougal & Gammer album does. The D&G album is overwhelmed with re-released material, so if an album of that condition does very well then a Hixxy/Raverbaby album would be a financial success. Hixxy may not be producing much these days, but he still is very relevant and his tracks are still very much in the spotlight, as well as old Raver Baby tracks.

And of course everyone loves and misses Mikey. An artist album from him would be very welcoming. So many great tracks that he's produced, and I hear there was a good number of material that he never released, or that was left unfinished.

As far as what artist albums I think would be great to see HU bringing out:

Gammer. Definitely a great producer, regardless of how people have felt about his productions this past year. He has a lot of material on his own, or collaborating with other producers besides Dougal. He definitely has the potential to release a 3-cd artist album. I only hope that if this were to ever happen FW doesn't meddle too much and restrict Gammer from releasing some top-notch tunes on the album so it can instead favor the releases at FW.

Scott Brown. His return is something that many of us have been waiting for. I really love a lot of the new material he's been dishing out, and I honestly like to hear him try and experiment a bit more with different sounds on an artist album. I do like his signature Scott Brown sound, but soemtimes too much of a good thing can be a bit of an overkill. Also, with Evolution digital releases coming to a screeching halt again, it would be nice to have a great classics cd full of never-before digitally released material from his EVO labels, along with other older labels he's worked with.

Darren Styles. Yeah yeah, I know that some people are sick of him, even I get sick of him sometimes. You cannot deny that he's got some catchyass stuff and that his material sells well. I think the artist albums he had going with AATW were very limiting to him, and a platform like HU is a great idea for him to do whatever he wants on an album. Surely the material is there, old and new. And as mentioned with a Gammer artist album, so long as FW doesn't meddle too much it could be an album that would shit over his previous 2 albums.

A.B & Douglas. I know that they have Stamina Records and that HU is not a freeform label, but I think that they both can benefit a lot from having an artist album released at HU, and HU has always been about promoting every aspect of hardcore, with the exception of gabber since Gaz hates it so much lol. Definitely love these two and a lot of the productions they've been releasing these past years.

Shimamura. Love his stuff, but getting his stuff in the US is so difficult and hard to find, and I imagine it's not that much different in the UK. He's been around for years and I think an artist album from HU could do very well.

And finally, a far-fetched one, Ham/Hamilton. I actually like his D&B stuff, and I think it would be great if he actually did an artist album similar to that of CLSM, with one cd of new/unreleased hardcore material, one cd of classics either released or unreleased, and an experimental cd, or in this case, his D&B stuff.

Would absolutely love to see something from VG in the form of a hardcore artist album, as I would a Fade & Bananaman album.

Some good artists you've all put forward - I'd personally like to see Seduction return and put something out but I've come to accept that's highly unlikely.

Can't see that happening. He has 2 artist albums out at least already. Albums are far better set up in Japan than they are over here let alone America. They have massive conventions which all labels aim for as a deadline. They'll be expensive to get unless they find a distributor over here or in the US. But I hear HU's postage prices are pretty hefty, so perhaps you can just import them from Japan instead of the UK for a little extra.

With regards to Hamilton, he's signed exclusively to RAM with regards to any new productions D&B wise. I believe he is also working on a solo album to be released on RAM at some point in 2014 as well.

I must admit it's HU's fault I started listening to more of the breakbeat side of Hardcore a couple of years ago with their HU breaks & also the stuff that CLSM was putting out direct via his site.

Around this time last year I mainly started listening / buying D&B, not just off the RAM sound, but also Hospital, Shogun, etc, rather than listening to much Hardcore tbh. There is so much decent D&B out there I've got into, not just the uplifting stuff, but even the darker stuff from Noisia, BSE, etc.

Entity needs an artist album, just hope he's sitting on enough material (or soon will)!

Outside HU, there's at least a couple of criminally underrated, but very talented and A-grade producers.

Stu Infinity. Got that "classic", no-nonsense, melodic UK hardcore sound nailed 100%.

Darren Hotchkiss. Some of the stuff produced by this guy (and out on Notorious Vinyl) is sensational. Very few people in the scene match the "drive" in his tracks.

Technikore. Solid, proficient, versatile. Also at his best in the "classic" UK hardcore.

Douglas. I *think* I've heard somewhere that he's got an artist album coming up on Stamina. If not - give him one ASAP. Unique sound, fresh ideas, great production.

JAKAZiD/Tanuki. They probably have things going album-wise in the J-scene, but a proper UK album would be niiice.

I guess that'll do for a start. ;)
