Back in the frequently released CD days, it was easy to know who was still on the scene, which tracks were coming out, etc..
Who is with what label now? How are you guys staying current with upcoming tracks? What's the best way to play Hardcore now? (ipod, itunes, burn own discs)?
Thanks!

a) There's probably more CDs coming out now than there has been for quite some time.
b) There's no easy way to stay current other than putting in the hours. Follow people on SoundCloud and facebook. Check the recently released tracks on Track It Down once a week. Spend five minutes scanning Forum topics on here every other day. It's the only way.
c) Whatever works best for you. iPod works best for me.

In regards to CDs, I meant just the abundance of different series. Hardcore Nation, Hardcore Adrenaline, Bonkers, Hardcore Reunited, Hardcore Heaven, etc. I love that CDJay is providing us with current CD releases (as I'm planning on getting the GTYM album asap).
Thanks for the tips.

Check out the thread below this. I update it daily with new music.
Podcasts and mixes are a great way of keeping up to date. A large volume of music in one place. I use driving hours to do a lot of research.
Compilations have unfortunately all but disappeared as of late which is a massive shame because they were always the things I looked forward to the most. So make the most of the Hardcore Underground series and things like Future State compilations.

Is the GTYM album good? I'm interested in the Squad-E mix in particular. I'm going to get it regardless, just not rushing to, like I usually do.

I absolutely loved Squad-E's mix on The GTYM Album. I posted an excited review about it in the thread for the album.

Easiest way? Buy Hardcore Underground 7.
Pre-orders live, tracklist reveal next Friday (waiting on a license request, can't commit to a public t/l even though the mixes are done)

Jay, can I be lazy and ask you to post a link for your review?
I tried searching for a thread to post my original question on but couldn't see it.
Also, having read my post back, I meant that I usually do rush to buy these albums from the HU store, but I haven't for this one.
Edit: Found it. Nuff said, I will proceed to checkout.

Ha ha! It wasn't so much of a review - just a real-time commentary as I was listening. Absolutely loved it!

Yeah I got that impression. I just wanted to be sure it was classic Squad-E, which I'm assured it is.

Have you talked to CDJay to see about getting it released on HU? Maybe Fracus & Darwin will remix one or two of the tracks too! It could be the CD sensation of the year! I'd certainly buy it
Maybe they could publish your book too??
