Had a discussion with my friend about this, is it the music? the MCs? the ravers?, the DJs? the place etc..............
I think that the best thing of a rave is simply the people going there.
From all the experiences I had in a rave, the best thing I enjoyed there was the company of other ravers (aswell as the DJs) going there.

Don't really care who the DJ is, if the music is good it's irrelevant to me.
Yeah totally agree. It is a bonus if it's a DJ you like though.

lol?
Generally speaking girls prefer either R&B or vocal/melodic stuff
But I can promise there's plenty enough girls at bass events buddy.

There's an argument for all of these things to be the most important, but in truth it could be any one of them. In my mind, you need a balance of the following for the perfect night.
Your close mates. Music you love. One or two of your absolute favourite DJs to look forward to. Meeting new legendary people. An intimate and friendly atmosphere with less than 500 ravers.
I've been to one night that comes to mind when I think of that combination above. It was a Hard Beats in May 2013 and it was the night I met Hannah, met loads of new mates, went in with good mates, got to see Scott Brown and Kevin Energy and raved in one of the best crowds I've ever been a part of. It was sensational.
Dave's Stomp! events achieve this same magical blend of conditions, which is why his nights have been so successful and must have one of the most loyal followings of any small rave I'm the country.
Dave's is a model I'd like to follow if I ever get around to seriously doing an event.

And it would be nice to meet a nice girl that's into hardcore. Save yourself many months trying to get her into it, otherwise :)

very good report. i saw this too, the underground raves less than 500 person have a many better ambiance than the commercial events with 1000 or 1200 person.

The most important is obviously the music.
The most important element that puts it into a rave category vs a typical party/club is the energy level of the people and how they're vibing off of that music.
