Maybe this question has been asked before, but I'm curious.

There are people on this planet that have never even heard of hardcore, let alone know what it is.

If you HAD to choose only three hardcore songs to convince someone into liking the genre, which three would you choose?

That would depend on who the person is and what music they already like.

Yea, I can't see playing classics like Shooting Star would get a many into hardcore today, unless they don't already listen to something similar.

But I guess I could give some quick examples of what I believe would work.

People into Psycadelic Trance/Goa -> FiNRG (Alek Szahala, Qygen)
I would say this one is as obvious as Bouncy Techno, since FiNRG does take alot of inspiration from psytrance.

Dubstep -> The Windy DJ that should not be named :P

House/Big Beat -> I presume Dougal & Gammer would work here?

Commercial Trance -> Darren Styles

I would probably play them Communion by Transcend because that's my number one track at the moment

I don't think it could be done with just 3 songs. The best way to do it would be to point them in the general direction and let them explore for themselves.

Building Shaker, Your One and the entirety of CXH4.

No particular reason. I just love them.

I did my fair share of evangelism back in the day. Mostly used Dougal & Gammer and Styles to do it. I wouldn't bother dragging anyone into the modern hardcore scene just to share in my disappointment though.

when i teach the happy hardcore in ECSTACY-T i start to make listen some noughties classics to my students. mainly tracks BREEZE & STYLES and DOOUGAL & GAMMER. and 1 or 2 freeform tracks of nu energy. for give them some solid bases. and let know the history of hardcore

but if i could make them listen only 3:
BREEZE & STYLES - slide away
ASA & S1 - trance overload
SCOTT BROWN - let the beat drop

i think with this they can have an idea of the different styles of hardcore

system shock - waste of noise
predator - demon pit (angerfist remix)
the viper - who we are

3 is easy, if you add, don`t care for the uk hardcore circuit or anyone it in that play hardcore, cos they is all shit and had nothing for 10 years, its all pimped cars and hunniez and the middleclass nerds can`t come along and kill like every other scene
