Anyone want to help attempt to make a timeline of the important moments in Hardcore history? After so many entries, we can add everything to an official timeline template.

I'll start

Jan 21, 1997: Moonshine Music released Happy2bHardcore Chapter 1. This was the first DJ-mixed happy hardcore CD to hit the States/North America and gave us over here an easier outlet to the genre! This also was a pioneer in the candy raver subculture!

End of 2002. Samination stopped being a fulltime pirate to instead illegally mix Hardcore... oh wait :P

Well, it could be nice to get some kind of timeline in order, but other than release dates of actual albums/singles, I don't think it would be easy to write down how each significant events startingpoint. And then there's up for debate what should be classed as Hardcore or not :P

^ this will make a nice timeline from a google spreadsheet, trying to do it on a forum is going to be a proper nightmare

For me 97 or 98 was the one, the year slammin vinyl released absolute hardcore volume 1 mixed by sy and slipmatt, the very first time I ever heard hardcore in fact, cd 1 track 1, u and me by 2 without heads, and sy scratching using the clap your hands sample, fell in love with it right there, oddly according to Amazon it was released in 2008, which is obviously wrong.

That was released in '98.

What was the significance though? Like...for example, One of the top running Hardcore series was birthed in 1996 as Bonkers 1.

Another one can be,
Bonkers 7-Began an era of downfall for Happy Hardcore
Bonkers 8-Raver Baby kicks in and UK Hardcore is lifted after a 3 year hiatus.Cover art changes to non-cartoony figures
Bonkers 12-Cartoony-covers return

1998...trancier sounds begin being introduced to Happy Hardcore while the rawer elements fade.

May 2004 - Hixxy holds the first major HTID event at Air in Birmingham, which eventually turn in to huge monthly events selling out each and every time. The unique structure of the line ups and different themed events each time keeps interest high and a new major player is in town. The scene is absolutely buzzing.

May 2005 - The first in the Clubland Xtreme Hardcore Series is released. Clubland Albums are hugely popular at the time and the advent of the hardcore series undoubtedly introduces the music to a far wider audience. At the time of CLXH1's release there are at least another two major complilation CD's out (Bonkers 14 & Hardcore Heaven), so much good music out at the time and events selling out nationwide.
