It's not just weird, it's rather insulting. Here's what he wrote on his fb post:

quote:

I gotta get this off my chest

Thank you every one for the love and support over the past 15 years.

I can't believe I've come this far to release a collection of all my favourite releases on CD.

"I'm old now WTF happened? "

On sale from tomorrow at 6pm limited to 500 copies. I will personally sign every one individually. (Dick Pics on Request)

Thank you every one for the continued love.

He had an album out with all his work with Dougal (First Order), then he had his own album from all his work on his own label (Muffin Music: Literally Everything, Not Literally). So are these albums not a collection of his favorite tracks as well??? With his mention of the 15 years he's worked in the industry and he can't believe he's come this far, he makes it sound like this is his first time around with doing an album.

While I still like what he produces, I'll more than likely skip this album. It doesn't sound like there will be anything new on this, and the only reason worth having this is for his autograph and to have it as a collector's item. I'm not one that's interested in signatures, and I'm not into collecting albums like this one.

Well yeah, weird & insulting is what I was getting at - I'm still really struggling to get my head around the whole thing, it was odd at the time that he didn't want to promote the HU ones but I figured maybe it was just how he rolled but then to see the opposite deal with this Bunter one surely just proves that there's some sort of disdain. I hope CDJay will chime in on this

I don't really have much to say about it, tbh, we put out those two albums which both did well. We paid on time, pretty much the minute it was asked in most cases, which most companies wouldn't do, and did out level best with every aspect of the project.

I only heard about this album just before you guys did, and haven't had much in the way of contact between April and recently. I did try to have a long chat @ HTID Concept (yes, I know raves are a terrible setting) urging both Gammer and the other TWR guys to talk to us more as we're all working towards the same goal but *shrugs*.

There's no bad blood as far as I'm aware, and it's not fair to single out any one one player as I'm convinced this is an industry wide phenomenon that has been getting progressively worse since 2009 or so.

I'm sure this album will do well, and the more professionally curated and presented albums out there the better IMO!

Yeah, agreed. A fan of the tunes but not a fan of having 30 second versions of them. I have them all in some format or another.

The mixing on this album is actually really lazy. The track to disc ratio made me think Gammer was going to go to town but I think he only really does that with pre-planned and rehearsed tracklists.

In conclusion: definitely not worth buying. Most of us probably have all of these tracks digitally and the mixes aren't worthwhile.

Agree with this. Very disappointing mixing by anyone's standards, let alone Gammer. So half arsed and lazy. The track list made me buy the album in the first place even knowing that there was no unmixed tracks , but I expected a bit more energy and flow to the mixes. Not worth buying.

same report here, lazy as ****. edit: and yes, it doesn't get much more 'pre-planned' than an album release.

Also, there's zero consistency in his signature lol. The first one I recieved didn't come with a signature, I mailed them so they mailed out another sleeve, check this out for effort:

This is my one:

And here's two I found on his page:

Yeah, I get that obviously it's not going to be identical each time but this looks like he just sat down with a pen and just randomly scrawled whatever shit he fancied. Can just imagine him sat there all like 'hahaha this mix is shit, and this ****ing idiot is getting a scribble'

I don't know if I'm making too much of the signature issue perhaps.

To be fair when I have a couple of forms to fill which require a bunch of signatures I do sort of burn though them with squiggles, let alone sitting and signing however many CD's, most people would switch off and just half-arsedly sign them!
Not that it's an excuse or anything, especially if it's something folk have paid for.

Well yeah, I suppose the mixes are a bit more important then the autographs!

Yeah, you're right. I didn't express that very well.

His proper mixes (mixtapes etc.) are all carefully rehearsed. If it wasn't already obvious (which it should be to most people), he basically said as much himself. If you put 30 tracks that he isn't used to playing in front of him, he won't magically produce a great mix without a lot of effort. Clearly he doesn't think artist albums are a good enough reason to put in that effort (which, actually, is pretty disgraceful when people buy your album expecting that you put some effort into it).

This is pretty much exactly how I imagine it went down.

And are they 30 seconds long, the tracks?

I think the shortest was like 40 something seconds, most of them about a minute and a bit but I'm pretty sure at least one of them was an edit (Jenna vocals too many times in a row on ordinary people) plenty of mixes that are just basically faded across, nothing at all like one of his DJ sets and nothing at all like anyone elses DJ sets either, it plays out more like one of those youtube album promotional videos, really not worth the bother

Ah ok. I don't know why but I've never been a fan of mixes where the tunes are 30-90 seconds long. I like to hear as much of the tune as possible. I also don't get those edits that you mentioned where they lift bars from the midsection - why not just make the tune like that in the first place?

Well, I get why they do it - to get the 'main' or 'best' bit of the tune in the mix, it's only necessary when trying to cram on so many tunes.

I'm not opposed to a mix with really quick mixes but that's if the mixes are actually interesting and worthwhile, a Gammer DJ set for example - It loses a bit of it dance/singability but is technically impressive; these mixes have neither
