When i wrote one of these last year i thought "wow what a great idea." I'm a little earlier this year but circumstances etc, i have some time on my hands and i've thought about it a lot. There was an interesting part of Scott browns DVD livewired where he talked about the next ten years and without watching and quoting directly i think it was about wether the scene would pass him by and he'd just be playing the same old tracks like a lot of djs do now (ie the guys who just do old school) or if he would evolve and keep up with the scene. I guess we all know how that has gone!! I've never been a producer or a dj and i haven't felt any interest in doing so, although i've been a listener for twenty years and i'd say i'm pretty (excuse the pun) hardcore. I reckon i've sank ?300 or so into hardcore music this year. I think it's my first love and i hardly listen to anything else. I do mix on my pc with software only for my own sake and it's not something i'd share because that's how i like to enjoy the music most of the time (ie on my own terms). I do get what Scott was talking about because i have been detached from the hardcore scene publicly for around four years when by best friend emigrated to australia and i've never really had any friends who are into the music, so i think i've always been a bit isolated. I guess what i'm getting at is while i can comment on what TWR are doing and how it's affecting the scene but to be brutally honest, i wouldn't know now as i have young kids and don't go out anymore. I don't see what parties are like anymore and don't get involved and thus i only know what i read which isn't always the best testimony i must admit so if anything my opinions come 100% from the perspective of someone who has lost touch with the scene but is massively invested in the enjoyment of the music. As such i don't concern myself with the rave scene or the politics, i concern myself with what sound my cash buys and what it means to me and i think there is a purity in that.
This year had a couple of surprises, i bought not only a TWR track (beneath the lights), a Mob track (going under) but also two freeform albums (Freeform family & Project badass vol 4). Last year i picked out some labels for doing really well ie HU, Lethal theory and Trackmaster which goes without saying but wierdly i look at HU as more of a store than a label of which Lethal theory sell alot of their stuff. The rest of the labels i don't seem to notice so much as how good the music is. I've strayed far the big labels this year and the smaller ones have thrown up some real gems this year.
I don't think it's been as good as last year musically but the diversity is impressive and the HU albums are doing a good job of covering all those areas if i'm honest. I don't think lethal theory have been as good but have still been pretty excellent all in all so i'm pretty happy with what i gained this year.
Favourite producers:-
1- M-Project all day! Love the two project powerstomp albums, he's had a few good powerstomp tracks crop up on the lethal theory albums as well as the 100 series. The guy also branched out into freeform and he'a already been big in J-core and Makina so the guy is pretty much a hero and i think his powerstomp has eclipsed Joeys and Kurts this year.
2- Joey Riot has been good this year, some of his best stuff hasn't been powerstomp as much his more conventional uk hardcore (although the best of these being pop remixes, Clarity and Skinny love). Still he's pumped out alot of music and i've liked quite a bit.
3- Scott brown has made a lot of good music this year with some real solid productions. He hasn't made his bleep song equivalent but that is just a real special track.
Honourable mentions go to Fracus & Darwin, Elliot X-ell (bought two of his this year, twice as many as TWR releases), Stu infinity, Al storm and Kurt to name a few.
Tracks are always a hard one but here goes (they change all the time)
1- Bass - Teenage kiss is easily the best track i've bought this year which pretty much ticks all the boxes (you could call that happyhardcore if you wanted).
2- M-Project - Ravers delight is possibly my favourite powerstomp track which is saying something because ther are alot of them i'm fond of.
3- Eufeion - Take me to the rave is a great example of the older style being happy, bouncy and all round great fun which is what hardcore is supposed to be.
Honourable mentions for;
X-ell - Feelin this
X-ell - Ready R U
Breakin thru Simmamura remix
Joey riot - Love me again
Dave castellano & fat steve - Don't stop
Cruze - Nebulas
Skitz & Stu infinity - object of my desire
Jaw D - secret weapon
Subliminal & stu infinity - Say something (wins the sad song and make it hardcore honourary award)
Scott brown - touched by technology
Rescue - Best in me.
There's so much more to write but i don't have time and probbaly couldn't begin to put it into words but there's a start.

I think Joey Riot has done more with his gabber act Destructive Tendencies than UK Hardcore this year.
What's been most great for me this year has been more recognition for the japanese and that Scott Brown seems to be in top shape! He has done a few good tracks the past years, but I don't think he was in his ace condition

M-Project absolutely dominated 2015 and he is an animal with how much music he makes.
I copped both Project Powerstomp albums back in October and they are totally awesome :D
