Hey all, long time raver and listener from Brisbane here, thought I'd sign up to the forums and see if anybody knows of a happy hardcore club or something in Tokyo?

I regularly go there and can't believe I missed out on Dougal & Gammer when I was there last December! I'm absolutely kicking myself.

I will be in Tokyo for a few days next week. Anyone know if you can buy any hardcore (well, J-core) in the shops or is it specialist stuff over there? I'm very unlikely to be raving but wouldn't mind picking up a CD or two whilst I'm there.

Thanks for the details candykid :) I did stumble across Weekend Ravers and wonder if they have any videos too?

I have a DJ mate in Shibuya who took my to a club (not too far from Shibuya) on my last trip. I can't describe the music other than a slow neo/psy trance.. very strange and nothing like we play here in Australia, but this time I really want to find some hhc or at least hard house :)

You can try BookOff in Akihabara. It's all used media, but you never know what you might find if you know what to look for!

J-core or hardcore goto Guhroovy in Shibuya...

Clubs and events, talk to M-pro who works there and pickup some flyers (if they still do them) at the store. Most events are promoted online now.

Events to look for:
Weekend ravers
X-treme hard
Happy jack

They are the regulars I still hear about.

I can't remember if it's Toranoana or Melonbooks (or maybe both) that have an actual store but you will be able to find some Doujin/J-core stuff there. Also there's GUHROOVY of course. B-)

Cheers Silver! I've actually just been listening to Nu Skool Happy Hard ;) Bloody love that mix. Brings back good memories!

Are you still in Japan? Are there any local hhc dj's I should keep an eye out for?
