My question is, are Slammin' Vinyl now the godfathers of rave? As Westfest truly caters for EVERY underground scene, as best they can.
Events such as Helter Skelter and Dreamscape are pretty much completed in their ventures, bar the odd event here and there.

There's also the case of Ravers Reunited picking up the baton from HTID regarding frequent, large Hardcore events... Does that also make them godfathers?
Haha. It's a very take it or leave it term. Who's the boss though? I feel Slammin' Vinyl own the rave scene as a whole, as they cater for so many different varieties of rave genres. They've been HUGE in the game for such a long time too. Just their events aren't as frequent as they used to be. Ravers Reunited now the new bosses of Hardcore.
Mark Lambert and his Sidewinder brand require an epic deserved mention too. As he started HTID! (EDIT - Hixxy started HTID! I played at the first event @ Enzos :) Mark hired the HTID brand from Hixxy). Also Sidewinder cater for a large rave audience of multiple genres. Mark did Godskitchen too didn't he?

You might have answered my question in one fell swoop haha. I was thinking about how Slipmatt is referred to as the godfather of Hardcore, and was wondering how that translated to events.

Such a cringey saying, I wouldn't say they are, the people who are best at putting on raves are the dutch and they always will be.

I love it when they have girls on stage with their tits out haha. Why can't we have some of that? It's legal isn't it?

He's not. He's continuing to do what he's been doing the whole time - playing classics/old skool sets.
More power to him :)

Agreed. I've heard he is writing with a couple of people though! It's looks like he's over the worst of his troubles, thankfully. He might take a Ratpack/Slipmatt approach. Write some tracks and also play classics!

Where do you get your information from? He isn't writing with anyone. I spoke to Sy on Sunday and he isn't interested in upfront Hardcore at all. He only plays classic sets.

I thought he was writing with Al Storm? Someone on Facebook hinted they would be writing with him soon too!

To echo Si's question, where have you got this info? There were questions asked when Storm released a track he made with Sy a while after the controversy but it turned out they were made a while back.
Who on Facebook hinted at it? No one will mind you saying if you know something.

Ah right! That explains the Al Storm situation. I can't remember who it was on Facebook. Someone in the loop though! It looks like I might have my wires crossed on this one...
