This is a man who clearly hates the scene and to be honest, the questions and responses from the interviewer makes me think gammer did the whole thing himself.

Honestly, I'm happy for Gammer. He gets a shit ton of flack and people smash him down and shit, but I'm definitely a person who understands the change in heart when it comes to music. One of my favorite musicians used to make crazy hardcore infused hardcore music, but they had some drama happen and that ultimately affected their whole musical tone, and made them completely different from who they are. That is why I have learned to not bash and destroy artists for changing.
Which is why Gammer is still one of my biggest inspirations. I'm actually planning a little Gammer remix EP of some sort because he just means a lot to me. But yeah, Gammer is still a cool guy in my book. The whole calling his style "happy hardcore" still does get a bit irritating at some points.

Even when Gammer was making good hardcore, I always thought he was a bit of a dick. Now he?s not making music I like, my opinion of him remains the same, but I just dont pay any attention to him. Not nice to hear about his depression though, but he seems to be over it now.

You cant start calling this stuff hhc and expect it to be the norm, it'd be like a producer making some new style drum and bass and then going about calling it jungle, its not jungle, and will never be, just because you start calling it that doesn't mean it is, because its f--king not lol
He's just posted something about happy hardcore and it obviously isnt, does my head in.

No one said he had to change his name, just stop calling his shit happy hardcore because that isn't what it is.
Literally my only gripe with this whole thing. If he doesn't want to make the sound he was known for, fair play, but don't appropriate the term "happy hardcore".
I noticed on his Reddit AMA, he said his favourite era of hardcore was the mid 90s oldskool breakbeat hardcore, yet seemed completely oblivious that there were still labels putting that stuff out.

This is the same argument that came out when raver baby starting the "new trancer sound" of hardcore in 2001... Hardcore music has always taken influence from other genres and putting a label on something I've never been a fan of. I might be getting old but I love the genre mix ups from artists like gammer and audiofreq...
Although gammer doesn't seem to like me (I think he thinks I am responsible for all opinions from everyone on this site - good or bad), I've always supported him and liked his music.

Not quite the same as that - The music changed its name from happy hardcore to denote a change in style. We all know what 'happy hardcore' means, what the sound is like. If he doesn't want to call his music 'UK Hardcore' anymore that's fair enough, but calling it 'happy hardcore' is as valid as calling it 'Jazz' or 'Blues' and that's complete nonsense, isn't it? :)

Blues is usually the default genre tag when ripping CDs :P

I always thought that Gammer was the better side of D&G but this newer stuff is just poor!
Why the Crudstep and Trap (Crap) influences?
Seriously you won't get this in Hard House! No way!
The UK Hard House scene is just pushing out slammer after slammer after ****ing slammer at the moment! Lots of noise, energy and hoovers and don't get me started on the big Toolbox Digital weekly podcasts every Friday!
This Trap/Dubstep fusion shite sounds like what 20 year old Jeremy Corbyn supporters listen to!
