Has anyone else noticed that recently most of the forum based hardcore communities are suffering from dwindling numbers of threads, posts & new members?

I post on several diffrent forums, hh.com, x-h.com, quosh & I look at ush from time to time, this it seems to be the case right across everyone of them. Hardly any new threads, when their is new threads been made, either no one answers them, or they get shot down for some reason or another i.e some one else made a similar thread three years ago so it's not worth talking about the same subject again.

Is it that the online hardcore community as a whole is dying out, or is it a representation of the hardcore music scene feeling flat and lifeless as a whole (just my opinion)?

Or do you think that some of the older members of the boards should just lighten up a bit and understand that not everyone was a member of the forum(s) back when they joined in 900 bc or when ever?

ever think to yourself it could be the fact that community after community keep coming online spreading the numbers across severalboards all doing the same thing...then another one opens "new hardcore community, join the forums now"

woke up this morning to 33 active topics...thats about average

my only problem with this board is some of the newbies we get
"TEH WONS OO CNT SPEEK PROPLEE"

I haven't noticed things slowing down at all to be honest.

And even if they were i still don't think it has a bearing on the overall scene itself. From my experience, the online 'community' only makes up a small percentage of the people who attend events/buy records/generally contribute to the scene.

Without these forums i'd still be able to buy records, attend events and get in touch with friends/contacts, so even if there was a noticeable drop in numbers i don't think it'd have a great affect on the scene.

My main concern is the quality of the events/record releases/forum topics - not the quantity.

When the scene suffers it's next slump (which it will), then we'll know who the REAL supporters are.

-----------------------------

Arguably one of the best

You only have to look at how many members hhc has
nearly 18,500 is it now?
and ya still got to ask yourself the question, how many of those members actually use these forums on a regular basis?

the only think i noticed is that the is a bunch of real retarded threads, makin me think all the new members are 12-15 years of age.

is it bad that I understand that?
anyways, back on topic, I kinda feel things slowing down a bit.. or at least getting more monotonous. Not sure why.
It does seem as if some of the fun got sucked out of these forums some time ago.

i think its a matter of personal oppinion, if your up on it ur up, if your down you get realy pesimistic.

personally im buzzin of hardcore at the mo, some exciting things seem to be happenin.

on the thred front i.e. the online community, id say some of it is worth readin some tho is just crap. i try to follow the ush forum but get washed away with it all, simply to many users.
