I'd rather see more Hardcore producers go CD, because releasing Singles on CD's are almost like an unchared land for UK hardcore (ofcourse there are som back in like 1995, but most of them where like commercial or sold in Holland :P)

Have to say I totally agree with Paul on this! Hardcore is possibly the only scene that has such a diverse range of sounds and tempos. There truly is something for everyone! If you like the old school sound, you've got hardcore breaks (and obviously old school itself). If you like it trancey / dancey you've got the likes of Raverbaby, Dougal & Gammer etc, if you like it that bit harder and less commercial you've got Nu Energy Crew, if you like it more breaksy you've got Kniteforce, Ponder & HB, Panacea, and if your into proper hard stuff you've got your Gabber!

How anybody can moan about other branches of Hardcore when there is something there for them anyway I'm a bit dumbfounded. I mean why not just go onto (for instance) a jazz / blues forum and tell them exactly the same thing:

quote:
Oh man, jazz these days is so shit! Where are all the breaks? And you call those kicks? pffff, its just pussy music. And don't even get me started on all this 3/4 time bollocks! Things that are killing the jazz scene: saxophones! Smooth FM! Using brushes on drums? come on, get real!!

Things that make the jazz scene great! Skateboarders listening to jazz! Jazz with MCs. Kids in their bedrooms blowing their own trumpets! 8 bit samples played over the top of a slamming breakbeat. Get with it you idiots, jazzcore breaks is where its at!

Oh and in response to 95's stereotypical up his own arse post:

Silver, can we get a swear filter on the s word if it helps keep him away?

right, i'll talk about the ****ing "scenes"..... and i'll talk about "killing" too. Now when i hear those two words; scene, and killing, I usually think of the phrase "killing teh scene". .... here's a list of what is killing teh scene:

I can reccomend a good psychiatrist

quote:

*hixxy's shit tracks

How is this killing the scene? Do you go to many events that Hixxy plays at? I doubt it. You like Hardcore Breaks, and Hixxy doesn't play at too many of those, so why cry?

quote:

*dougals new hair cut

And this affects you how exactly? "Oh noes, teh dougals got a noo hare kut!!!11! Teh scene is gonna dye!!!11

quote:

*sharkys choice of sexuallity

Again, this affects you how? Or even the scene? Does he force his sexuality upon the world? No. Does he use his sexuality in his music? No. Have you perhaps had a bad experience with a member of the same sex and that has made you into the homophobic (using the add-on phobic in its true sense) biggot that you are? Probably.

quote:

*chavs (or for american ravers, white-trash)

I've never had a problem with Chavs at a party. But then I'm not a narrow minded biggot.

quote:

*binge drinking woman featered on clubland adverts

See my post in the clubland advert thread. Perhaps do a bit of research on marketing too.

quote:

*clubland adverts

Its an advert ffs! Its also not targeted at Hardcore Breaks which is all you seem to be interested in, so how on earth does this affect you you numpty!

quote:

*people not supporting real rave music, ie. new-oldskool & hardcorebreaks

I'm sorry, but I thought that people did support these scenes? I think what you actually mean is that some people like so-called UK Hardcore, some people like Freeform, some people like Gabber, when what they should all really like is just Hardcore Breaks and nothing else? While your in the library reading up on Marketing, pop over to the History sectiona nd read up on the Nazi Party and their underlying beliefs.

quote:

*too much vocals in hardcore, this makes hardcore softcore.

:-o Damn it, if only you'd been born earlier and could have told people this back in the original rave days you could have saved us all 15 years of vocals in rave music!

quote:

here's a list of what is making the rave scene better:

*me

Well, you give us a laugh thats for sure, but tbh all you really seem to be doing is painting a very bad picture on the scene you are trying to promote.

quote:

*people who listen to rave music not wearing shite clothes

No doubt you will inform us in a seperate post exactly what clothes we should be weearing so that we can be just as cool as you

quote:

*people who skateboard and listen to hardcore music

I'm sorry, but yes I know skaters who listen to Hardcore, but how this affects anybody I really don't understand? Is it coz skaters are cool, and being assosciated with them is good for our image?

quote:

*rave events with no MCs

I'm not keen on MCs, BUT its nice to have variety. Those who like MCs can go to events with MCs, and those who don't can go to the ones without. Everyone (except you) is happy!

quote:

*kids in their bedrooms making ****ing awesome hardcorebreaks on shitty PCs

Personally I couldn't give a damn about the spec of their PC. Anybody making good music is a bonus to the scene yes.

quote:

*people using 8bit mono samples in their tunes

What has Benny Benassi got to do with Hardcore?

quote:

*hardcorebreaks

Just another cog in the wheel. I'm pleased it makes it better for you. Unfortunately it obviously hasn't made it better enough or you would stfu and stop moaning like an old woman!

quote:

there! now try ****ing listening to me for a chance.

I've listened to you and kind of upset that I did. Think I'll stop listening though now until you lose your homophobic, biggoted, superior, narrow minded, commanding, uneducated, childish, arrogant, up your own arse and just downright stupid attitude. Every single one of your posts has had you whinging like a little girl who can't get the boys to play with her dolls with her. I mean seriously, do you get grief because of the music you choose to listen to, so you think you'll pass some of the grief on? Or is it just your an arrogant wanker?

Hixxy-shit tracks but makes money!
dougles haircut affects his music so much hes retired and sacked JASON!
Sharkey - is looking for you because he thinks like all of us your a total shit stabber! (he likes young boys so watch out)
chavs- earn so much for the DJ's they are sponsering a hostel in Wanstead for anyone affected by hanbag har
dcore!
binge drinking women on clubland adverts- this is why we know you really like Sharkey because the rest of us like these binge drinking women!
clubland adverts- you won that one!
people not supporting real rave music- do you know what real rave music actually is? because believe me you don't! how old are you anyway? Me, I,ve been into real rave music when you were getting your free bottle of milk in primary school! (bet u liked your headmaster)
heres whats making the rave scene better! - ravers going to the music that they love! and no one can change that so whats your point?
BTW who the f**k skateboards now? sad f**king bas*ard!

Ha, I was going say something simlar to what Paul said...but he replied so much better than I was going to do.

Thumbs up Paul

95_was_the_time, when will you just piss off and leave these forums? It's clear your not liked or even welcome by alot of people. At the end of the day if you don't like hardcore (although you claim to be such a big fan but you show non of it in your closed minded posts) then stop listening to it & stop comming on here and shouting your mouth off with these childish little comments.

^^^ Thats some funny shit right there

****ing hell... i think this guys stuck in the 80's!

Breakbeat = urban music
Skateboarding = urban sport

ahhhhhhhh you cleaver sod *gives you a golden star*
Nice one for thinking original like! But unfortunately were almost 2 decades ahead (shame i know)
People don't associate them 2 things to be together anymore... (thats is ofcource - if thats what you was you was on about!)

OPEN YOUR EYES!!! Havn't you noticed that were in the 21st centry and skateboarding has turned into this ****ing dirty "punk rocker, emo, fagic ********"!
Yes indeed! its not hard to see... all it is these days is a TREND!!! *spits*

They ware a board cuse they think it’s a fassion accessorie – no passion, no soul, no self expression and they give nothing back in return to the sport itself!

^^^ now translate that into a music scene!

I for one - ^^^ would HATE that type of crowd at our raves!
Crying in the corner every bastard five mins..
"noooo... the lights... the lights are making me blind!!!! lets slash my wrists apart!!!!"
that’s not what “ANY” hardcore is about!

Now me for one – i class myself as an bread & born skater - i skate for the love & passion of the sport… and i rave for the love of the music... now as much as i would love the music and sport to be assicated… i have to face the facts… it will NEVER happen… skateboarding is tooo much of a big thing now for it to EVER turn back… it will just remain a "fassion accessorie" only to be “PICKED UP… AND PUT BACK DOWN!!!”
Ang on amin… havn’t I used them words on here before (I think some people understand where im coming from now when I talk about music!)

Now look back on what you’ve said… and think… trends ****ed up the skateboarding "Scene" (AHHHHH THE S WORD!) and now you want to inport that same crowd to **** up the "hardcore breaks" scene (AHHHHH) that very scene (AHHHHHHHHHH!) THAT YOUR TRYING TO PROMOTE!!!

aaahahahaha ^^^^ funny shit right there!

also... in this day and age, skateboarding is only ever asosiacted with "kids!" (most people don't even know its a worldwide sport)...
besides... what sort of person lowers themselfs to be so norrowminded that they have to wear what everybody else in there genaraction does...

KIDS!!!!

"KIDS" are NOT a good thing for the "scene" are they? (AHHHHHHHHHHH!!)
In fact... didn't you moan once about there being to many kids in the "scene" (AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!)

So please... STFU!
Your head really is tooo far up your own arse!
just chill the **** out!

As for clothes... does this mean you want us to grow afros and were flars!!
Hey, that would look good on the dance floor wouldn’t it hahaha!

Old Skool is fantastic but so is the new stuff! all the DJ's are playing the stuff we want, all the MC's are saying (the same old thing ) Handbag to Speed its all Hardcore to me!

Fair play to you Paul lovin it all but i hate most happy and uk hardcore.

I like the best of all kindsa other music like northern soul, punk, prog rock, metal, old hip hop, trip hop, dnb, breaks and all kindsa other tunes.

But i despise most "happy" hardcore stuff since 96, still love dutch cheese and english of 92-94 in a big way though (gotta love the original bouncy cheese) , but not in the last couple years f*ck that.

It's very easy to explain why i like what i like, when i listen to hardcore i expect somethin raw, either harsh breaks, bouncy techno, old bangin gabber or speedcore.

When it comes to late 90's cheese, modern uk hardcore or screechy nu style i hate it bar the odd tune written by a master, i wish i could enjoy it but it's far too clean, polished, unoriginal and pish.

I'll always appreciate the old bit of the older uk/happy stuff, but none of thats been for a long time.

You no my tastes paul compare a set i send you from your ravin days, to the sets that are gettin heard in as you put it in "handbag" hardcore rooms today.

To me it's a different world and i'd rather let people love there stuff in there packed out arenas, and let me enjoy my backroom sweatbox's with the HARDcore crew.

Your from Rhyl land of some real f*ckin hardcore lads, dolphin rockin it and you no what makes me and the rest of us tick on a dancefloor.

There is good music in all styles as you say, but bein serious a person into there Scorpio, Producer, dolphin, freak and HMS sets aint gonna be into your Sy, Hixxy or RFU tunes unless thats the way there taste goes.

Basically i have a very broad taste in music, including hardcore, but i hate a lot more than i like and i'd rather admit that than jus say all the cheesy gay shite is good cos it's "HARDCORE" .

You no i've got respect for yourself paul and your opinions, but i'm not gonna deny most hardcore is really shit.

I wish all the best to the ravers keepin the happy side of hardcore alive and hope they enjoy it as much as i did when i was younger, but i'll never dance to it or buy or pretend i like stuff i think is shit.

Keep the younger ravers happy as it's a good thing, couldnt care how cheesy the tunes have gone. I used to think gabber was a lotta pish (fastforwardin any lenny dee tapes on my old rez packs), but through goin to raves and findin the backroom fulla madheads i've kept enjoyin it.

2006 has been the best year in ages for gabber with loadsa events, fully HARDcore and at the big events like uproar an htid havin a bangin room.

wise words mate! but like you say 2006 has been a good year for gabba and all other forms of hardcore aswell! I was one of the lucky ones (old twat) ACID HOUSE came, and I thought what the f*ck is this? I love it! then searched for (like you've said) the raw element of dance music, which is why Hardcore was formed because people like me wanted more energy, experimental, non-comercial dance music!
The problem we have today Chris as you will know! Theres nowhere left to go! Its all been done! This is why I said let Hardcore do what it wants to do! The more people listening to it, the more the whole scene can continue forward, in every shape and form! So lets chill out a bit and see where we are in 2008!

you talking music terms... nar... rubbish!

Its probly just cuse producers are too scared to try new things... as A - its too much dam work trying to create a scene out of it! you need support!

But come on... this is electronic music mate... ANYTHING IS POSSALE!!!
there really is nooo limits to how crazy you can go...

its just... will people like it!

Scenes take years to set up... i mean its toke hardcore 15 years to get where it is today! - i guess some people just don't have it in them to try new things when theres already a HUGE sweet shop to just walk into and loose yourself by something you may find!

Theres already a big filed to play with... and for a producer, its just finding a place where your style fits best too... a peace of music that fits the mold for your expression!
