Thats exactly it, its not the software or hardware, its the person using it.

FL / Cubase / ACID / Music Maker (Under-rated imo) / Reason are all tools of the trade, just like a paint brush and blank canvas, but only the artist can turn that blank canvas into a masterpiece.

There are so many websites with tutorials/hints/tips etc and loads of free stuff for download that you will basically be able to make your own music.

There is no definitive answer to what is the best as they are all as good as each other, some ppl swear by cubase, others swear by FL or Reason or whatever, the sound engines are only as good as the .dll's driving the software, so use up to date software and you will be gettin the latest and best in de/encoders.

Its great to see so many ppl wanting to make hardcore, in fact, its refreshing. To know the scene I love will live on. I just hope there is more scope for ppl to get their music "out there" labels are very closed doors, and imo digi labels are the way forward. There is so much talent around now, I hope to see it on the grand stage, along side the seasoned professionals, or are the "old timers" too scared to let the new blood in ? Thats a different story ;)

i agree with fl 7 being released i find i dont rewire cubase at all now infact i can do things on fl studio you cant do on cubase
the old argument seemed to run with the fact fl comes with shit sounds/fx /synths and you cant make a tune with it that sounds pro .imo they must have based this i dea on fl5 and before as since sytrus vst synth came about it has been all you need. one good synth is all you require fo making all the sounds you just need to know how to use it as for the effects to be fair the standard fl 6 ones arnt much cop if you dont use them in conjunction with each other but all these things are just bundled extras to make the sequencer you have purchased work so if you want to know the answer to the long asked question what is the best sequencer i would have to say fl7 through ease of use but if you were to ask what is the best complete stand alone studio package it would be reason.
I do alot of recording and i do find that cubase excells at doing this were fl7 is capable but lacks some of the control but hey we are not talking about recording a live band now are we. we are talking a bout computer music with mabe some outbord hardware synth or fx units hardly a need for multi track recording from inputs or side chaining

i still cant get anyone to tell me what exactly is better about cubase. what can it do the others cant?
as for this sound engine bull S /-/ | T you cant tell the diffrence is you set the settings the same and export even if you put it through a paz analizer it is the same across the spectrum

now there is little to seperate the big boys of the sequencer world it is Mainly down to prefrence and what you intend to use it for

Rant over
