i know people who make hardcore on fruity and it sounds amazing, check out a label called amplified digital on IMO run by my friend dj Mikk, all his tracks were made of fruity and sound just as good as any cubase track out there.

Fruity is a good place to start there are lots of tutorials on youtube (search for Kev willow) tutorials and im sure you will be making beats in no time.

Any more help please feel free to ask :)

Who told you that? I'd ask them why they think that when the sound engine is as good as anything else and it has vst support tbh.

It might not have been up to the task 4 or 5 versions ago but it certainly is now.

Grab yourself a few synths like Sylenth1 and V-Station, a decent sampler (short circuit 2 is free), and start learning how to use it all. ;) PM me your msn add if you like and I can try help you out where possible.

is there a complex compressor vst that i can use to widen the sound of my tracks. they sound flat and i just add synth after synth to fatten it up.. and i know that isnt right

Layering is right mate, that's what you should be doing. As long as you aren't just layering a load of sounds that sit at the same frequency! EQ will be needed and compression can be used to help each layer find its own space in the frequency range.

A compressor on a single sound wont give you the sound you're after at all.

Making a sound wide though.. Is a whole different thing. Did you mean wide or not?

REAPER is a good place to start if you want a 'proper' DAW. by proper i mean conventional. grab a bunch of samples and a few synths and yer away. i'd defo agree with the guy who said sylenth. i'll raise ya nexus. there's a lot of amazing synths out there for reaktor for producing Hcore.

i only say reaper because it has a 30 free trial. so you can decide if it's for you.

everything about it makes sense. and i have been producing on it for a while now with great results.
