Hardly, I've tried pretty much everything over the years too.
Even if we're ONLY talking about AA and Gemini, I've owned:
-Gemini XL-100, XL-500, PT-2000 MKII
-American DJ QD-3, Q221, DCD-PRO400, DCD-PRO200
I've used:
-Gemini XL-500 II, PT-2400
-American Audio TTD-2500
And probably more which I can't remember.
I don't just thrash talk things I don't own. I have owned all that crap and I can honestly say they aren't professional gear.
XL-500s/PT-2000s are fine for learning but they're a joke compared to professional level decks. Their pitch is innacurate and flutters alot. Not as bad as some of the other stuff I mentioned though.
As for the original poster: If you think we "don't know shit" and "hate this website" why did you ask us the question? You obviously value our opinion.
Since you value our opinion, I stand by my first post: the best thing to do is to buy used gear and sell it once you've learned, or save up for good gear.
Spending alot on lower end Gemini/Numark/Stanton/AA gear is a waste because you will end up upgrading and their resale value is terrible. If you buy it used at least you can sell it for what you paid for, and it's not like cheap gear is impressive anyways (plus, if you're just buying gear to impress your friends you shouldn't even bother DJing).

i want to cheap out and got for some stanton ones, but then another part of my wants the SL1210 M5Gs.
i know the technics are better, but they are also twice the money.
stanton isn't that bad anyway, they just don't weigh 20 pounds per turntable.
i'm probably not going to buy technics because of their price tag though... (****ing student life...grr)
I have the M5Gs and I've owned and/or operated just about every deck out there. They are definitely the best so if you can afford them, go for it.
However, I'd recommend buying a set of used Tech12s. They honestly last forever so if you pick up a pair in good condition you'll probably never sell them. I had one that was over 30 years old and worked flawlessly!
You can pickup a set for 500-800$ CAN around the end of the month on most forum board in Canada. That's when people have rent to pay and used Tech12 prices have really dropped recently because of the demise of vinyl.
The str8-150s really aren't that good. They often have problems and there's a bunch sitting for repair at the local music shop here. They're so light, it's ridiculous. Yes, they work OK but considering the fact used Technics are cheaper I don't see why you'd buy them. At worst, get used Technics from your local L&M. That way they're garanteed to work flawlessly.
