I've never even seen a pair of mk1's? I don't think you can still get them can you?

MK2

Are decent enough. These will be more than enough tbh.

MK3

Same as 2's +
The power switch is different to help avoid accidentally knocking it.
The pitch slider doesn't have a click at 0 which is much nicer.
They have a button to lock them at 0 pitch.

MK5G

Same as 3's +
Have a digital pitch control that you can change from +8 to +16.
Have blue LED's.

There are other differences I'm sure but I don't know them off the top of my head. I've used all three extensively and they are all top decks. Can't go wrong with any of them.

I've not used the normal MK5's. They just look like the 3's...

You're all wrong. Here's the answer.

The best one is the M5G imo.

Well there is no MK5G and it has not 16% pitch, that's the M5G you're talking about.

haah it's the same thing make. Both abrviations of mark. lol Look, here it is listen on HTFR as MK5G http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR102863

I'd actually say the Wiki thing is a typo and it's supposed to read mk5g. it does have 16% pitch too. I've used them many times... It's the 1210 Mark 5 G

You can apologise for you error now. ;)

now now ladies :P

they haven't been improved much over the years, and i think that speaks a lot for their design to begin with. can't improve much on a really great product. (besides adding an LED and modifying how fast it turns).

There's tons of things to improve. Check out Stantons. They have electronic start/brake, can play 78 RPM vinyls, reverse function, up to 50 % pitch ( 16 is not enough for me tbh ), a much stronger engine, some key stuff etc.. none of these will be found on a Technics. But I'll still stick with them, lol.
