Well my headphones broke a few days ago and i was wondering what headphones you guys would reccomend for DJing. Ive got quite a bit of money coming through soon so i'm definately up for splashing some cash on these.

Anyone got any idea what the industry standard is nowerdays?

Although ive heard the Sennheiser HD-25s are really good. Check decks.co.uk, thats where i got my pioneers from (free with my mixer :D) Think theyre about £100 and the Sennheisers are £149

I have the Sennheiser HD-25s, definately the best ive used but i haven't used the pioneers mentioned before

Worth testing them out first if possible see which you prefer. The HD25s are tiny compared to most which i like but you may not

i bought the sony mdr-v500.

best part about them? you can actually wear them in public without looking like a retard.

the v700s were just retarded looking and i felt like a fool when i wore them outside the house.

Those sound amazing but they're more for studio use than DJing.

For DJing you want it really loud with swivelling cups and the Pioneer HDJ-1000s do that nicely. I like how their frequency response - most other DJ headphones have too much low end for my taste, and not enough highs. Pioneers are loud in the top end, which is what I beatmatch wiht.

yeah I hate the Sennheisers. I find the sound isn't what I'm looking for when I'm mixing, the cups are too small (so I can't have "half a cup" on my ear) and the chord isn't coiled so it gets caught everywhere.

HDJ-2000s are ugly but they're metal so I assume they rock. Too expensive right now though.

These are the ones I've got. Obviously I'm not an expert on this stuff, but they sound good to me, and you get to look like a pimp while you mix.
