Im sure a few people must be using these things so i need some help please.

Is it possible when using this software to play ordinary vinyls? Ive just got Intimidation Touch DVS and it wont allow it by the looks of things. The only way i can see of doing it is switching a load of wires around if ever i wanna go from mp3 to vinyl and vice versa, so it would be impossible to put a mix together using both mp3s and vinyl. Do any of these vinyl emulators offer this switching between formats or am i just gonna have to rip my vinyl collection and do it that way?

I'm using Serato and I can switch between the two using the phono/line switch.

My Decks plug into the sound card thing that is supplied with the package and this has outputs for both phono and line on two channels. HTH

I use torq, as i have said many times before, on the interface box there are 2 nobs that allow you to switch between real vinyl and the Time coded vinyl.

Ah serves me right for buying the cheaper option. It only has phono outs that go to the line in of the mixer channel so it cant be switched like serato i guess.

Looking through the manual it can PLAY real vinyl but it cant really be mixed you have to set the channel with the record playing on to thru so that its constantly playing and cant be crossfaded out. And the sound is ****ing awful for records. This is what i get for not looking into it enough.

did you buy it new? maybe you can get a refund?
that sucks that you spent all that

and just out of personal interest - is this why everyone seems to be selling their vinyl?
because they all have serato now...or is it just a credit crunch and people are scrambling for extra ££$$?

Well if you can get all your music in mp3 form, people dont really see the need to keep the vinyl around i guess, so selling them does seem like a good idea.

I've never sold any vinyl and don't intend on doing so. ;) Vinyl FTW.

Aye i got it new but not from the actual company, i got it from decks.co.uk. Ill have to see what their returns policy is and just save up for Serato :(. Unless i find a way of getting round it in the mean time that seems like the only option. Gutted is not the word.

I know Hattrixx is more active over at ush i might go ask over there see if theres any salvaging this thing.

Ive never sold a record, dont intend on doing. Credit crunch or no credit crunch im keeping em, mainly cos most of them are in such bad condition id have no chance of selling em for more than th epostage fee to send em out lol.

someone posted a ghetto version of serato using a maya44 USB soundcard (ebay). look into it, if you have the timecode cds or vinyl, then just DL a program and you should be good to go for around 100 pounds if i'm not mistaken.

it's not pretty, but it's the exact same thing in theory. luckily i bought a mixer made specifically for torq so i'm laughing. thinking of selling it though and doing what i just explained above, it's way cheaper.

Ok so it cant be refunded due to it being opened and activated, but they (Intimidation) are gonna send me a phono doubler/splitter thingy so i imagine that should sort it. Thats what Serato uses or something like that, isnt it?
