Hey guys,
I just discovered (or re discovered) happy hardcore and uk hardcore a few days ago, and since then I'm really into it. I don't know many DJs yet except S3rl and Nightcore, so I wanna travel to the UK to do an event and discover a bit more about this genre. What's the biggest and/or most awesome hhc event you'd recommend ?
Thanks !

smaller ones, like HU or club-events are big enough for me :P
I don't think I would stand to be in a crowd larger than 200 people :S
Also, what Nightcore are we talking about here? The actual producers or the "youtube scene" where you take a well known track and just pitch it up to 180BPM?

What does HU stands for ?
And I was speaking of the DJ (http://www.last.fm/music/Nightcore) I was confused too at first between the DJ's name and the subgenre's name

If you're serious about coming to raves in England, you should go to these ones. Also, let me know if you do come over - we can meet up and have a beer before we go into the rave :-)
* Hard Beats Collective (London) - these guys put on a series of raves called 'I Love Hard Beats' and I'm pretty sure that in years to come they will be looked back on as being legendary. They are absolutely out of this world.
https://www.facebook.com/hardbeatscollective/events?ref=ts * Hardcore Underground (London/Northampton) - extremely diverse line-ups in modest sized venues with exceptionally friendly crowds, run by guys who really care and are under-appreciated by the wider scene. https://www.facebook.com/HULtdOfficial?fref=ts * Sinistry (London) - an underground Hard Dance and Freeform event series delivering some of the hardest beats around. https://www.facebook.com/SINISTRY/events * Munted! (London/Essex) - a Freeform event group that host a few raves a year. Incredible atmosphere and great music. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Munted/199610873396398?fref=ts * Stomp! (Leeds) - exceptional event series in the north of England showcasing a really eclectic mix of Hardcore styles from new and established artists alike. https://www.facebook.com/stompleeds/events

Thanks for the suggestions! Does all their events take place on Friday night, or is there some good events during weekends? As I'm from France, traveling to England right after work may not be very convenient for me.
And I'm surprised that UK hardcore events are so underground, I found it hard to find videos and infos about them. At the same time, I'm used to hardcore gabber events such as the Masters of Hardcore with thousands and thousands of people, I guess the atmosphere will be quite different !

I actually prefer the Friday night events for exactly that reason. I just eurostar it in from Brussels.

I guess if you wanted real oldskool happy hardcore then Bust an old jam would be ideal.
The best place to look for all these events is facebook.

Mmm HTID seems quite tempting! As for the Westfest, it's quite big an event indeed, there's even hardcore gabber and hardstyle (<3 Wasted Penguinz) ! But I've already been to quite a lot of events with these music genres, so now I'm looking forward to experience HHC events mainly (but seeing hc gabber may be a good argument to convince some friends to join me along haha).
And from your point of view, which one has a better overall atmosphere, smaller events like HU or big events like HTID ?

The larger and smaller events will offer you completely different experiences.
The big events (eg Westfest, HTID's) provide a big atmosphere will possibly 1000's of people singing along etc.. The production will be more impressive and you are more likely to see big names.
Smaller events are obviously much more intimate, they give you opportunity to see artists that you wouldn't be able to see anywhere else and also are great for meeting like minded people and making new friends. There is a much more personal feel.
Personally I enjoy going to larger and smaller raves equally. They offer their own plus points.

If you are interested to the commercialy succesfull Happy Hardcore from the 90's ( for example: Dune, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo), you might want to try the "Happy Hardcore" event in the Netherlands . I've never been there myself, but the tickets are usually sell out quite fast and some people told me how much they loved it.

I've bumped into the dutch Happy Hardcore event on Facebook. I've listened a bit of Dune, but the only ones that I know are Paul Estak and The Viper ... Wait, The Viper do hhc too?? I was aware for Paul, but I didn't know The Viper hhc side!
I've listened to a few playlists to discover more about hhc, and from the bit I've heard I don't like oldskool hhc much. Maybe I'll create a new thread to ask about some recommendation on some artists
