The HHC.com members have spoken, the votes have been counted & after 3 months we finally have a winner!
THANKYOU:
First off, can I just say a HUGE thankyou to both the producers & voters who took the time to get involved in the competition, & again a big thankyou you to Dys7 for being a good sport and putting his track forward :) I appreciate all the effort you guys put in surrounding all PPF projects because without you none of it would happen.
I'm not exaggerating when I say this was a very close competition. Such varied & original ideas obviously made it extremely hard for you guys to pick favorites & the variation in votes certainly shows this, & for this reason i've decided to list the exact number of votes that each track received in a top 10 table.
Every remix received a minimum of 3 votes which means that everyone involved can certainly take something away from this competition & feel proud of the work they submitted. The main purpose of the competition and the album is to pull all the members of the site together & give everyone something to work towards, learn from and be proud of. Even if your just a listening member, your support is greatly appreciated.
REMINDER:
Finally before I get to announcing the winner could I just push a final reminder that i'll be starting an official 'PPF 2014 Submissions Thread' in Mid November where we can all come together & start building the next installment in the PPF Members FREE Album series. However feel free to send any of your tracks to me now to [email protected] or even just PM through the site. It would be great to see familiar artists involved again aswell as some new faces so get working on those tracks & let's make next years album something special.
I've got major plans for the next album including a full website, showcase DJ's, revamped artwork, artist bio pages with interviews & a whole host of other ideas that i'll reveal as we go. Also with this years album already sitting at well over 2000 downloads it's certainly a worthwhile project to get involved in.
For those that may not be aware, PPF (The Past. The Present. The Future.) is an annual album series created entirely by the members of HHC.com. It's completely FREE and features all the tracks in both Mixed & Unmixed form.
FOR MORE INFO & TO DOWNLOAD THIS YEARS FREE ALBUM CLICK HERE - http://www.happyhardcore.com/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=60229 THE RESULTS: *EACH MEMBER VOTED ON 2 TRACKS. You all brought something very different to the table which made for a great competition. Feel free to promote your own remixes where ever you please but all I ask is that when doing so, please let everyone know about the 'PPF' project in general, links to our soundcloud page, this years album, etc & be sure to give that man Dys7 a mention too :) I will start the next Remix comp same time next year and next time I plan to feature a substantial prize for the winner. I look forward to seeing you guys involved again but for now, it's time to focus on our next album...thanks again & take it easy :) *IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO ALREADY, PLEASE TAKE A SECOND TO FOLLOW OUR SOUNDCLOUD PAGE* - PPF Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/ppf2013

Shit, i didn't vote! Don't feel quite so bad knowing my vote wouldn't have changed the result.
Congrats to everybody for this, lots of great remixes.

I'm glad for Scuz winning this, his remix sounds like straight outta an early bonkers mix for hixxy! Good job!!

Congrats to the winners and everyone else! :-)
If any of you guys are interested, these are the notes that I sent to Ken when I voted. I voted for:
1st: Remix 4 (Phobz)
2nd: Remix 10 (Dopeman)
Remix 1 - Very accomplished remix. Lots going on. Very, very good indeed.
Remix 2 - Good atmopshere. Not especially keen on the kick/bass. The guitar was quite a nice idea, but it felt a little muddled as it went on. With a bit of tidying up, this would be a cheeky little track!
Remix 3 - A smidge cloudy, but it works! The kick and bass are pehaps a little too prominent, but musically this is a decent remix. Like it.
Remix 4 - Unbelievable remix! Incredibly atmospheric, a magnificent, Scott Brown-like kick and bass. Loads and loads of ideas in there, and lots of different elements to the track. Favourite
Remix 5 - Very, very good remix. Extremely uplifting and energetic. Exceptional momentum. Love it.
Remix 6 - Extremely distinctive remix! Love the big explosive beats/synths during the first sort of breakdown section. The mechanical sort of sound (like Hoodzie's productions these days), isn't really my thing, but I don't think the remix suffered too much because of it. Really good track.
Remix 7 - Pretty decent remix. Wasn't especially keen on the echoey "Cherry Bomb" vocal samples. Quite like the general atmopshere of the track, though. Nice.
Remix 8 - Good, good track. Really grew on me the more I listned to it. I know that "Music takes me....higher" sample from a Freeform track, so it threw me a little bit. But overall, the remix very much had its own identity and I absolutely loved the piano.
Remix 9 - I liked the thickness of this track. Good chunky momentum. Nice and uplifting.
Remix 10 - I can imagine that not many people will vote for this one, but I absolutely love it. It has - by far - the most natural emotion out of all of the entries. I like the speed. And I like the fact that although it is fast, it doesn't feel remotely fenzied. Love the sample. Really good remix. Love it.

Well done to everyone who entered, crackin' job from everybody!
my voting PM:
"Remix 10
and also
Remix 8
if we can vote for just one track though it would be just remix 10!"
I think I enjoyed them the most and they had both done something different with the track, so it was a toss up between the two!

I picked 8 and 10 aswell, primary because of quality and varity.
Hoped more producers would have chosen to do a breakbeat hc or even freeform for example to keep the general varity up.
And, who is Scuz? hope its not an alias of someone

While I did like the Scuz remix, I have to say I enjoyed SmashingTheSiren's remix the most, followed by Ellipton. Not a giant stickler for happy hardcore is all :)

Well done to Scuz from me, a worthy winner
Also thanks to Dys7 who favored my remix, especially as it was his song we were remixing.

Well done Scuz. I voted for remix 8 because it was a good old school sounding remix. I think my other vote went to 9. 9 probably would have been my first choice if not for that annoying repeting sample :P
Will the Scuz remix be mastered without the vocal sample though? As Jay pointed out it's not an original sample but I can't remember the rules exactly

Most likely the sample wont feature but I'll try my best and see what we can do.

I voted number 1 first, and number 8 second.
Thought one was the best job, 8 I liked because it's a happy hardcore remix, wish I'd thought to do that!
Thanks for the feedback on my remix too :) Looking forward to the next one.

I voted for #1 as first choice and #9 as second choice, but #8 was a worthy winner as well. Congrats, Scuz. :)
Those who didn't win, will they be put up for download?

As far as I'm aware we can do anything. Certainly don't mind putting mine up if anyone wants it.
