Okay so I went last year and it was great! Hardcore , hardcore, hardcore! But this year the event seems to be shaping up to be something very different. Hardcore, hardstyle, forgive my arrogance but I've never heard of Atmozfears, Cotts & Ravine....I'm sure they're great artists but I need help....
I'm seeing a lot from other genres mixed into the line ups this year. I'm just going for the hardcore...could I be disappointed ?
The line ups also say 'hosted by...' a particular MC...that suggests they won't be actually MC'ing?
I just don't want to be getting only 50% hardcore for my money...im on the fence ...can anyone help advise ? How do other ravers feel about the look and feel of this year's HTID?

I'm sure they're only booked because they're Australian, which is where the new company owning HTID is from. Either way I think it's a bold, fresh move to make and to diversify the lineup.
I'm familiar with Atmozfears and some of his tracks, but I don't know what the hell he looks like. Not opposed to bringing anything other than hardcore to the event, but when it's an international DJ like Atmozfears it could overshadow the majority of the lineup that doesn't currently have that type of exposure.
And the "hosted by" label will mean nothing. Majority of the MCs will still be the obnoxious loud cunts that people know and stupidly like, "rapping" over the vocals.

Pretty sure their not, the majority of the DJ's are from the UK :)
Ravine has nearly half a million followers on youtube and both have a big fan base.
I think HSU diversifying the line up is great esp. for an "international" party. The same old lineup on every flyer doesn't work anymore... HSU are going for what many different people want to hear and not just the same line up playing the same music.

I posted about this on facebook earlier, allow me to copy and paste...
So all the htid in the sun info is out pretty much, and while the line up is good and every person on it a thousand percent deserves to be there, where's the rest of it? Because looking at it that's a line up you'd expect to see for one decent sized rave, not 4 nights worth, that's probably 3 times less artists than the last 2 years and God only knows how small compared to lloret, plus a serious lack of MCs, I don't know what HSU are attempting to do, be it a rebrand or whatever, but hardcore HAS MCS and that's that, don't be trying to change such a fundamental part of it because it won't work, to me this is a prime example of a larger brand buying up a smaller one with no idea at all of how the smaller one works, you can't be too harsh because it's their first event in charge but it doesn't bode well does it.
That basically sums it up, its bullsh!t and anyone with half a clue should be able to see that.
Last years flyer had 73 acts in total, 51 DJ's and 22 MC's, this years has 30 artists, 25 DJ's and 5 MC's, all in all its a joke, take off the non hardcore and it's even more dire, whats with this multi genre crap with events these days anyway, ooh lets be all musicly diverse and break down genre barriers, nah, bollocks, im sorry but some people are purists and dont want what should be a hardcore holiday diluted with stuff that's not hardcore, to me that defies the point of everything, HTID literally stands for hardcore.
I was initially going, i have the time booked off work and also a hotel provisionally booked on a pay when you arrive, cancel up until a few days before basis, but unless theres a load more announcements made adding more artists (doubtful) then no way, spending what can and will easily run into a grand just because its in magaluf and eeked out over a few nights, where i could see the same line up plus more for a tenth of the price in the UK on any given weekend, nah, shit, i could do the clubland weekender for a lot less money and thats absolutely huge compared to this, so yeah, the line up itself, good, but the size of the line up, absolute garbage.

I do agree with this...I went htid last year because I wanted hardcore and nothing but hardcore. I thought last years was great...if it's not broken why fix it. I just can't decide if I want to go this year...if it was the same as last year wouldn't have the dilemma.

That's the thing though, it is broken. Given HSU brought HTID as the company was in debt, it's likely that in the sun made no profit last year. Changing things up and booking artists from other genres with a wider appeal may help to introduce new people to the genre.

Mc's have ruined hardcore, it's embarrassing to admit you listen to hardcore, try and educate someone about the best music in the world, take them to a rave and then all they hear is some absolute absolute screaming idiot ruining EVERY single track
