Ok so I am upgrading my computer . . . before I do so , I would lik eto ask around a bit before I do this... I have Cubase 4 , I am thinking of running a AMD computer with this... however... I am not sure if AMD or INTEL would be a better choice , or if it even matters? Just kinda looking for a bit of imput on this.

Cheers

its not down to the company that makes the processor - its down to the processor itself

buy an AMD Sempron processor is going to suck big time next to an Intel Core2duo

like wise an Intel Celeron next to a AMD Phenom

Intel do tend to be better at number crunching in general too so they're more suited to music production software.

I have always used intel... however I am putting together a cump and am being told that I should go with AMD .. As Ihave never used anything AMD I am a bit worried on making the convertion as Intel has always been good to me.

This is right. If your comp is for music production I'd go Intel.

It doesn't make too much difference but if you want the very best performance...

Dunno. I asked my grandad this, he makes computers and knows everything about em i guess, he seems to think AMD (not sure which) would be better for music production. He did say Intels are better for gaming, but said id be better keeping my AMD Athalon for production.

How long ago was this? There was quite a change around when things went multi-core. Intel is definitely the one to go for but like Trikuatatrata said, you probably wouldn't notice a difference. :P

The late single core intels are pretty shocking.
