It doesn't involve driving to and dealing with a lock up daily; storage on site. Main media room, studio and office all massively better. Leased line for resiliency. Either it works or not. I've loss lead and supported the wider scene so long at no small personal cost.

Hello Jacek, helloo DMS, hello Jay and hello to all the other members of this forum!
I totally blush for the kind words that you and others have posted in the past months I simply was not aware about being missed at all!
I have been busy with my work - of course - and I was facing huge problems regarding my health for many months, but unfortunately no doctor had found the reason for my suffering. At the moment I feel much better and gladly noticed that Hardcore hasn't died at all and that you and others are still part of the scene. Keep on raving, my friends! Hardcore unites!

Production wise there is definitely a surge. Some of the new Hardcore producers comming through are unbelievable and there are so many of them. I'm not sure if it is because they were born in the computer age or maybe just the fact it is much more affordable to set up a home studio these days.
But there are definitely very exciting things ahead whatever your preferred style.
The bar seems to have lifted and more competitive than ever.

Been on Spotify today and I had a bit of an idea. Some of TWR songs have Radio Mixes, so here's some comparisons of plays between them and original mixes.
Knight In Shining Armour:
Radio: 53,290
Original: 14,712
Mind Your Sex (just clipped version of original):
Radio: 6,750
Original: 4,988
Rest of Your Life (Da Tweekaz Remix)
Radio: 269,791
Original: 76,110
You & I (Da Tweekaz Remix)
Radio: 272,000
Original: 67,616
Without You (FW)
Radio: 15,944
Original: 7334
Never Forget You (FW)
Radio: 68,420
Original: 8,210
Sure Feels Good (AATW)
Radio: 580,349
Original: 9,165
Save Me (AATW(?))
Radio: 371,014
Original: 1,352
Come Running (AATW(?))
Radio: 776,936
Original: 7,020
[Even Mixed tracks seemed to perform well against original mixes]
Tripod - D&G
Mixed: 10,992
Original: <1000
Monster (D&G)
Mixed: 24,466
Original: 10,519
Cameras Ready (Chris Fear)
Mixed: 2,789
Original: <1000
Future Fuzz (Gammer)
Mixed: 5,645
Original: 4,661
---
I think there's a case here.

You're putting your point across is a very UnElipton fashion. You're almost rational and dignified.
It suites you :)

I've skim-read the article and the posts on here, so may have missed a few facts. IMO, As a "die-hard", I think the word "surge" is totally inappropriate. Why? you may or may not ask. I clearly remember the massive dip towards the end of the '90's, but yet, with appropriate pushing, marketing and, I dare-say, a certain Slammin' Vinyl Hixxy mix jump-started the ol' horse and things got popular again. Magazine reviews, TV advertised albums (that weren't loaded with artist/label or even mono/fake mixes), were springing up, and all was good.
And now? I think HU may put the odd album out for retail - I have no idea. What happened to the last Clubland? Things have moved on, and hardcore isn't really of any significance for the bigger names to pump out albums like they used to.
When it comes to making music, yes, there are absolutely AAA top-drawer producers out there. There are also others that can whack a totally shit tune online for sale, and the owners of such sites (not naming names) don't care, because their passion has gone, and will happily take 50% of each sale.
As for events... I think HTID USA showed the UK how it should be done (American/Canadian Raves are the way ahead!) There isn't enough new interest with the same DJ's spinning the same songs over here. I don't think anybody dare argue with me when I say that the number of people coming into hardcore is dwindling and people are going elsewhere. People get older. It is NOT. PHYSICALLY. POSSIBLE. to bring in the numbers that you could in the 90's. I'm still dabbling in UK/happy hardcore, because it's a long-standing passion of mine, and I hope it sticks around...but it won't ever be the same.
Feel free to argue.
